5. Mead ( Is obviously better than I've been giving him credit for.)

4. Mitch. ( Working his way back. Next season will play this way consistently.)

3. Jason Horne Francis ( Jason Horne Francised.)

2. Jase Burgoyne. ( High IQ showing though.)

1. Bergman. ( Someone had to get 1.)

It's so hard after that last quarter to give anyone votes tbh.

Those midfielders receiving votes above were a big reason we fell in such a big hole. Yes, the defenders and forwards weren't good, but the ease with which Carlton strolled the ball away from contests and stoppages was the most damning aspect. I love the way JHF is travelling, but he wasted three critical opportunities in the second quarter (two missed shots on goal and then that centering kick from the pocket). He was also directly opposed to Cripps at both of the two centre square stoppgaes that Cripps then spread forward from to goal. On the first occasion, JHF couldn't tackle him even after Cripps slipped over, and on the second, JHF was left standing with hands on hips in the centre square after Cripps had drifted unopposed into the forward pocket to receive that handball. Later in the quarter, Wines was brushed off by Cripps too easily resulting in McKay's last shot on goal.

My votes therefore are:

5. Georgiades - the only player who actually won his position throughout the whole game without severely letting his team down at any stage.
2. JHF
1. Mead

George- looked like his 2021 form
aliir- looked more composed than usall and competed well in the air
mead- career high disposals
jhf- tried hard played amazing for the first 3 qtrs, but went quiet in last as did all our mids
butters- second tag in a row with cincotta up his ass all night, found a way to work through the tag.

Not sure how Aliir gets a vote ahead of MG.
