So we lost a game, big deal!
I'm not sure if everyone expects Riewoldt and co. to slide straight back in and we go on our merry way but it's not going to happen like that. Some people on this board are acting like 2 year olds after one loss. Those same people obviously don't follow the football that closely. Unless everyone has forgotten, we played fairly ordinary footy against Brisbane too, who have won one from their last 11 outings and no one was up in arms last week.
We will continue to play poorly until all the players work back into the system again. I have total faith in Ross and the coaching staff and I'm sure they will get it right come September. Until then there will be some lean times while the boys get some momentum back. Collingwood played well and we played poorly, but by no means is that any indication for the rest of the year.
Unlike what those scum Collingwood supporters might say, we are a better team than them and we will beat them in the finals. We are still in the best three teams in the competition along with Geelong and Hawthorn with Collingwood, Western Bulldogs, Fremantle and now Adelaide on that next tier below us. I'm more than happy for the ferals to lap up this result and go mouthing off all week as we approach the finals and then, if we play them again, a just result with ensue. We continue to beat them in September in recent years and this year will be no different.
We have encountered speed bumps all year and rode over them with ease in our metaphorical Hummer and remained on course for the big dance on that last Saturday. I am not at all worried yet. Earlier in the year we should've lost four games in a row realistically, with our only win in that stretch coming from a freakish comeback against the Bulldogs. Yet we bounced back really well and started to play some quality football, all up until now.
Only three weeks ago now did we beat Geelong comfortably. Riewoldt and the lads will work it out very soon and the gameplan will be up and firing, ready for finals. Everyone on here must realise that our form will be scratchy until the players all get used to the system with Riewoldt in it and we have our full strength line-up back in for a few weeks to blow out the cobwebs. Let's not become the Quartermain board please. Have faith in the team, we are a good unit and we will show it come finals time.
Go Saints!
