Forget the media throng that’s there because Reid was pick 1
The main difference is the lack of Freo players there to welcome Simpson
Allen, Yeo, Burgiel, Duggan and Maric rolled up to greet our recruits
And Duggan stayed to meet Rawlinson who arrived afterwards from SA
And Pav was only there because he was on the same flight
Done that with the last few drafts of having players waiting at the airport (Maric and Culley) to greet the new recruits. Club has got a lot of things wrong the last few years but at least they have got that right to build a good bond amongst the playing group.
Strike, is there an all-out war that has been declared on Dark Sharks today?Unlike you to hang onto something for years passed it’s use by date
He does exactly that, or changes direction - crazy suble angles - on a dime; he's got poise, that lad.Hope Harley doesn't always depend on the fend-offs and tries to evade would-be-tacklers with his speed more.
Would you say swerveability...?He does exactly that, or changes direction - crazy suble angles - on a dime; he's got poise, that lad.

And Pav appeared to hand him a purple backpack with a number on it...a bit underwhelming. And Pav was only there because he was on the same flight

More tense than Munich in here.

You realise he kicked 130 goals in a season in u15s right!Harley Reid's primary and secondary positions will be heavily debated.
I think we can all agree that ideally, the primary position would be Mid.
Now, in terms of the secondary position (where he will start), here is my view:
- Angry: Reid (HFF) Putting Reid at HFF would trigger me. He would get 15 possessions a game, and those possessions would be dinky kicks in F50. Look at JHF at HFF. Also, it's an endurance-heavy, low-impact position which really doesn't suit Reid.
- Content: Reid (FP) I would be content with Reid at FP. He would still get 15 possessions, but they would be high-impact possessions where each one would either result in a score or set up a score.
- Over the Moon: Reid (BP/HBF) I will continually advocate for this as his golden secondary position. He played in this position at U17, and he made a name for himself. He has characteristics that make him elite:
- His highlights show he is elite at intercepting and taking pack marks from the side.
- He has the ability at BP/HBF to take the game on and fend off from defense to offense.
- He has a booming 55-60 meter kick (underrated accuracy).
- He has a good leap, which means he can spoil and mark.
- When the ball is on the ground, he can win the contest better than anyone
- Shut down nick Watson
- Ball will be flying bp 80 percent of games
TL;DR: I will rage at Reid HFF. I will be okay with Reid FP, but I will be over the moon at Reid BP/HBF. My view is that Reid can be a guaranteed elite 300-game defender, but as a FP, it's less certain. As HFF it's dead on arrival
(Look from 1:00 he take intercept after intercept)
He has also been coached. Don't underestimate self promotion as a driving motivator. He has the ability to make himself more marketable than most players in the comp. Already has a puma contract and now probably has others lining up. It's in his interests to ensure the eagles brand isn't tarnished while negotiating other brand colabs.I definitely get the feeling that the constant wearing of the club colours. Even down to wearing the eagles socks and bright yellow sandles at the photo shoot for the top draftees, is in part him putting on a show to stick it up the media who have been speaking for him all year. That and he genuinely looks excited to be joining the club.
The club marketing department will be absolutely eating it up.
