Reflecting on all the pre-draft crap about him not wanting to move west, looking at the vids the club produces, as well as social media posts, I wonder if WCE is exactly the type of club Reid would've wanted to be at? As a bloke who likes a very family-oriented environment, there probably aren't many clubs in the AFL with as many dads on the list, even with the list turnover. Clearly is fairly close with Shuey and his family already as well.

There is a chance he’ll want to go there eventually though, and that’s probably what most people were referring to pre-draft.
Doubt it, it's the furthest club in Vic from his hometown and his #1 choice at the combine was Collingwood anyway.
It's uncommon for players to end up at the club they supported before being drafted, if they weren't drafted there to begin with.
A lot of people seem to think that every player wants to play for the team they supported when they were little
I remember there were a lot of West Coast supporters pissed that we picked a "no-name" Victorian in Chris Judd over the local boy Graham Polak. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Judd seemed to acclimatise to the west a fair bit better, meanwhile Polak struggled to get the hang of the tram system

It is pretty ridiculous to think that was probably the first time he’d played against anyone over 18

Uh unless I'm missing something the highlights showed a kid winning lots of contested ball, broke a couple of tackles, had good game sense and positioning, never brought to ground by another player, and kicked four goals from midfield.
