Then double the penalty if they play for an "interstate club" .
It's legit hilarious when the AFL itself uses the term "interstate". Not even bothering to pretend it's not some hokey state league with some other teams whacked in for good measure.

Reid has learnt a lot in the first half of the season.
Looking back over some games during the bye, in between the flashy moves, you can see the incremental improvement and him actually learning on the job - when to go, when not to go, handling physical 'special attention', dealing with a tag, being held quiet for most of a game, playing on the best midfielders in the comp, positioning, running patterns etc.

As he matures he will tidy up his own game, his own choices, of when to be a running handballing team player and when to break out and take it on.
Hoping to see a more settled or measured Harley in the 2nd term, without losing his hunger to dare and dash...

Oh, what a feeling, Harley!

We know that Harley Reid is hard to miss.

The long, blond locks of hair; his big, cheeky grin; and, of course, his signature “don’t argue” move that has him labelled already as the second coming of Dustin Martin.

It turns out Harley hasn’t been difficult to spot on the streets of Perth.

It hasn’t been the fact that he’s been driving around in an old, beaten-up Toyota HiLux ute that has been giving him away, either.

It’s more that he was one of the few people in the state driving around with Victorian number plates.

Well, that was never going to last long. Once word reached head office at Toyota in Australia, the wheels were put in motion, literally.

Reid has been made an ambassador for Toyota, in Western Australia – something that only happens to a precious few.

We’re reliably informed that Reid’s old ute has been replaced by a brand-new, top-of-the-range HiLux GR Sport (worth more than $80,000).

Wow! Nice gig if you can get it - to the champion go the spoils! (and the sponsorships)

Outstanding.

The HiLux GR Sport sounds like a much better ride than whatever Mazda would've given him had he have ended up at Norf.

Perhaps Pyke has promised him the pick of whatever is in the Audi Centre once he extends beyond 3??

I used to have a Hi-lux myself - was the love of my life, sort of. Great vehicle. Go well in it Harley, perfect for you.

If he ended up at Norf he would have been driving an Uber to help the club earn more money

A 1984 Mazda 323 ?

Geeze the Pike comments don't fill me with hope. We've got him for three years and hoping for a fourth?
No he meant we could easily sign him for a fourth. Even jay Clark said earlier in the year Harley was interested in a year extention.

But **** that. Wce would not want to extend him for only 1 year and in return redraw his third year for bigger money. A year extention for Harley means he can get his third redrawn which is something other clubs can't necessarily offer.

Only give Harley a better third year contract if he signs longer term use it as leverage which is what Pyke wants. A year extention is not something we should really rush towards just give him time to settle. So if he signsn its slightly longer then that.

Hurts to write but absolutely sensible. Nothing to gain by giving Harley a $1m 4th year and upgrading his third year.

+3 years @$1m and upgrade his 3rd year or offer the lifetime deal.

A couple of 9's...when this was posted on X, there were of course some derogatory comments, including - "Correction, a 9 and an 8 ball!"
I suggested it was time to move on and let Ben move on...
It's been 18 yrs ffs! Some people just can't let go, like when watching WC play Pies a few rounds ago, and the crowd booed Sheed everytime he got the ball - that was so funny - 6 years ago and a premiership and they're still seething! ((;
(arguably we're seething about Sheed for different reasons?)
