It was only because we allowed it to happen. Good coaching would mean switching so he never ends up there. Hell, he should be able to do it on field. We have enough flexibility in talls/smalls in defence for him to never have to end up at full back.Dawson across half back as Hodge would do at times is fine. Direct traffic, control the game.
Trouble was that when he played defence for us we allowed his man to drag him to the last line of defence and out of the play, as far away from being able to launch attacks as possible.
A coach with any semblance of a clue changes things. For now he has to stay midfield though
