Welcome Welcome to Adelaide: James Peatling - Traded with F3, F4 for F2

So GWS have all sorts to of problems with the scandals they face and the Stringer deal falling over so they need to look tough and not be seen to roll over on a deal with Adelaide. That is how I am increasingly seeing it.

I'm sorry but if I'm Peatling's manager I'm telling the crows to get this done tonight, why risk the PSD you still have to nominate for the national draft in order to get to the pre season one.

Just give them the F2 ffs
There must be a reason we want to keep our F2, and the only plausible reason I can think of is that we would trade with NM for pick 2.

Stringer deal was never off and the investigation has nothing to do with the trade negotiation. Still holding up the Giants though and maybe why no movement on Peatling yet.

Anyone who thought there was a degree of goodwill between us and GWS at trade time needs to have a rethink. Quite a bit of underlying animosity IMO. Maybe something a bit personal going on. I reckon we are the only club they get bloody minded with. Any other club, I reckon they just take the best deal and move on. If this goes to the PSD again, they probably should look at getting someone else to negotiate with us in future. The F2 is reasonable IMO but if we have decided we need to keep it, then they really just have to accept the best offer we give them. To end up with nothing is just being stupid. You just suck it up, and store it in the memory bank for future deals.

Or equally, why aren't we just ponying up that little bit extra that they're asking for? Isn't it up to us to just pay the price like we did with ANB?

Nothing at all, but tigers, eagles and Roos could all easily cover that frontload at least as easy as us.
That play always comes with a statement from the player.
I want to go to Adelaide , will be back here next year after I pocket your 1m requesting a trade.

But contracted, they'd effectively be using cap space to by a draft pick. Which is something the clubs want to be able to do anyway.

I agree the F2 is reasonable. Not sure why we need it so bad, but I guess we do.
When push comes to shove though you just have to accept the best deal when in their position. We would, if the shoe was on the other foot I reckon. In fact I reckon it would have been done ages ago if the roles were reversed.
