At the stoppage, she has the smarts to read the ball off hands and win a stack of clearances, then when forward, Sowden finds space to win the ball and hit the scoreboard consistently.

In 2024, Sowden worked in tandem with potential top pick Ash Centra at Gippsland Power and stepped up after a promising bottom-age campaign.
