Mead has been decent, not super impressive but showing some things but not a lot but he does play the hardest position in the Hinkley ecosystem which is small/medium forward and he does so out of position as he is a natural midfielder. His biggest attribute is that his possessions usually go to our advantage but he needs to pick up some other traits soon or he will be surpassed.Mead imo is playing in a position that doesn't suit him but he's still managed to do reasonably well in it. I've always said since his draft year that Mead can be the replacement to Wines (perhaps not in that Brownlow quality) but one thing he's always been good at is at the contest. I still think that's where his value is. And that's where I'd play him SANFL next year to ensure when the time comes he can step up and replace Wines.
