You people missed the point that the best CEO in the land has already raised the issue with Yze sitting back too much. An awkward introvert rookie coach coaching the youngest side in the league is a recipe for disaster. He’s on a hiding to nothing regardless but I reckon he’ll be gone within 2 years easy.

He has seemed more relaxed and open in the footage the club has released over the pre season so far. Have a suspicion there was quite a lot of tension between Yze and senior players last season and now a fair chunk of them are gone. Lets see if he's more proactive this year

I really hope he doesn't get to be the sacrificial rebuild coach. The club should take win-loss out of the evaluation, as long as he has buy in from the players.

I’ve been a critic of Yze, as a lot have. But think this is the dream he sold the club. We know about the whole moving on or die in the past speech but it’s clear this is what Yze envision. The next generation of tigers.

A lot has been said about his relationships with the older boys and its harsh to say it was great. I think everyone knew where they stood. Yze was and is invested in the youth to move this club towards its next flag. There wasn’t any interest in holding onto past stars to hang around the 8.

I don’t think he’s too soft as people say, he’s a relationships guy similar to McCrae.

The only hope we have with Yze is that he was a deer caught in the headlights which can happen once an individual rises to a senior role, he may not be equiped mentally and function under adversity.

Divorcing all the extraneous factors such as injuries and dissatisfaction of experienced players etc. what the coach had control of he unfortunately performed poorly hence the worst club record in a century. I have watched Richmond for over five decades and we have had some very poor teams and coaches but what he produced was the poorest I have witnessed.

I expect a huge improvement next year as Yze is coming off such a low base and I suspect he is more in the mould of a fair weather coach, not everyone can work well under the pump.

So on balance what Yze has shown which he had dominion over it is more likely he will not be a long term coach and that is his challenge to turn it around, I hope he does as I would hate for us to waste 3 or more years and under develop the current crop of draftees.

Good luck to him but you can only make an assessment with the data at hand.

We do have Steve Morris and Blake within our coaching ranks so if Yze fails To dramatically improve we have in my opinion a far better coaching structure to move forward with a talent laden young team.

I reckon that that is the case long term, possibly even short term.
Nevertheless, it's what I would expect from a professional organization like the RFC.
Have most of the bases covered, going onward and forward...
Next year hopefully is different to the doom and gloom of this year's injury interrupted AFL season.
When everything and anything conspired to bring us down...
New page...of a new book...a new history...

Well he's got 2 to 3 years to hit his straps now and if he doesn't hit key metrics (player development and game plan) then we move him on.

Well we hope so JAKLAUGHING

Ben Serpell will be a huge piece in the jigsaw puzzle as there is a statistical correlation between ladder position and number of players used. The seniors was in the 40’s under Yze and the 50’s in the reserves under Morris.

yze comfortably performed in line with expectations while Morris outperformed making the bottom end of the extended finals equation.

I have a strong suspicion that back against the wall coaching such as Hafey, Northery Et. al. is not Yze’s forte

What we can see of his game plan we certainly need to be running on top of the ground but with the extraordinary draft haul we received this year his exposed handball chain link central corridor game plan which can win you 20 + games in a season could potentially be complimented with a tall thin side wing structure which could be quite interesting as it not only provides a more reliable defensive exit but an attacking option if the central corridor has been closed down due to efficient oppo defensive cover.

Many lamented the heavy trove of tall forwards saying we unbalanced our selections which is correct but each tall has unique attributes that do not heavily overlap. The success will be in developing and consolidating these differences not the overlapping part of the Venn diagram of our talls attributes,.

The concern of accomodating all these 190+ size players would generally be an internal team structural problem, but the unorthodox draft selections Blair carried out these none overlapping attributes our new talls possess will not be a headache for the opposition but it will develop into a full blown migraine for the opposition as our cohesion develops.

I am a bit torn our best coach in Morris is now in the seniors coaching panel which is his right place but ideally with such a
large crop of highly talented first round draft picks our future is in this space so that is were the most logical place Steve Morris should be plying his craft.
