Certainly a rare occurrence, but there are a few more examples.Hirds at Essendon, Kennedy's at Hawthorn and Silvagnis at Carlton are well known ones, sure there are a few others.
Silvagnis at Carlton but Kennedys also played for Swans. Until your post, I'd believed that James' father, Alan, hadn't played for E'don.

Twomey and Howell.
Twomeys are disqualified. Bill to Bill, Pat & Mick (how would they like that generation where you come from, Bresker ?), but David is the son of Peter who didn't play for the 'pies. Howells out too, Jack played for South Melbourne, Jack jnr and Scott for Carlton. 2 out of 3 ain't bad might satisfy Meatloaf but it's nowhere near Darcy/Cordner/Silvagni. Good gets, though

He can’t gain to much weight suddenly with a stress fracture injury.

If he gains to much weight it will put further stress on his bones when he does actually start running.
This is anecdotal, but I also found it infinitely easier to put on weight/muscle once I was in my early to mid 20s vs as a teenager. Your point is the more relevant one though

Very interested to see where we play him initially.

Play him from Day 1 in the position you are prepared to developing him and exhaust that option.

Excited to see young Sam settle into some footy again in the back end of this year. If we can hold onto English - Sam will be the perfect long term pairing with him. (Obviously thinking 3-4 years down the track) not all doom and gloom at the doggies just yet!

Now listed at 1-2 weeks!

What do people think about the chance may see him in the seniors as 30% ruck after 4-6 weeks in the VFL?
99.9% chance that won’t happen. He’s far too skinny and under conditioned to play senior footy this year.

Would honestly be a huge win to get 6-8 VFL games into him where he plays out the entire game. He needs to be taken so slowly and very gradually built up.

We have to remember too, he’s 205cm and about 80kg. That’s thinner than Ayce Cordy when he arrived. At least Darcy has a set of shoulders to help add weight to though.

Darcy’s current measurements aren’t too bad, still has plenty of work to do though.

Aren't too bad???? He is 94kg! He will be giving up at least 5kg against most KPF/KPD and 10kg against most rucks that is a huge amount. Play the kid in the 2's and get him to eat eat eat
