Its all well to say West Coast are the best team in the comp to date.....but alot of people are forgetting..the AFL grand final is held in Melbourne...lets just look at WCE's performances in Melbourne in 2005..

Wizard Homelaons Cup Grand Final - Telstra Dome - Defeated By Carlton (27 Points)
Round 9 V Colllingwood - MCG - Defeated By Collingwood (23 Points)
Round 11 V Richmond - MCG - Won by 2 Points
And we all know WCE are a hell of a lot better than Richmond...but look at the score...btw..thats Richmond without Nathan Brown...put him in and Richmond would have walked all over them

Now i'll point out these 3 teams, Carlton, Collingwood & Richmond last year found them selves all out of the 8...i'de hate to see wat would have happened had you taken on StKilda at the Dome...rather than Subi earlier this year.

Man you stole my post, thats what i was gonna say

WCE will finish top and get to the grand final, however i think if a melbourne team makes the final they will win

Wizard Cup?Look where that got Carlton

got them 16th..meaning they are s**t, and we all know they are....soo..where may i ask is your answer to not beating them in the WC Grand Final....and don't give me all the bull of it was just the Wizz Fizz Silver Wok cup...West Coast went out that night wanting to win..they tried.....and they failed...admitt it...your team can't play in Melbourne...we've all admitted that half our sides cant compete over @ subi...so y not just admitt WCE are a failure in Melbourne, and it will show Grand Findal day.

I believe wce will make the grand final, they are the best team in the comp by far...but if your faced with Melbourne, Geelong or Stkilda on September 24.....say goodbye to that silver premiership cup your all after.

That is the biggest lack of respect for one of the games best defenders.Rodan doesn't even get anywhere near Wirrpunda in quality.

We dont have any injured defenders.

Wirrpunda gives you what a 2 goal start at each game???

Well then i reckon Rodan gives us two.
It is hard to match up 5 - 6 injured players, i just did it with how many goals they are worth to each team.

History suggests the exact opposite - if a melbourne team makes a GF against an interstate side, the interstate side wins more often than not. Far more often.

OK, so this tends to say that WCE may have a problem in Melbourne.

Soooooo .... what if they play the GF against a side that doesn't have such a problem with Melbourne - such as Fremantle or the Crows! :D

We all know that melbourne-based sides don't win GF games against interstate sides - there is a lot of AFL GF history to back this up - more than you have presented above.

I hate when ppl say but he was injured and he wasn't playing. It's only rnd 11 with 11 more games where many more injuries can occur. The premiership race is still wide open. :D

If the eagels beat the dees in 2 weeks i will agree but until then i dont.
As a demons fan looking at the top 8. if i had to pick a team i would love to play in the grand final it would be WC.
Out of all 16 clubs if i had a choice of who i pick to play in a gf it still would be WC, unless u r a geelong supporter.

yep,
Adeliade- 2002 SF still brings me nightmares
Brisbane- well we all know what they can do
Carlton- 3rd id like to play just cos there bottom atm
Collingwood- bastards always math up well against us
Essendon- Ditto (besides this year)
Freo- well look what happen this year
Kangaroos- match up well at the G
hawks- same as freo
Cats- they own us
Port- 2nd team i would pick as we have a 100% winning record at the G against them
saints- 4th we also own them at the G
tigers- u never know with them
swans- they will flood and bring us down
Bulldogs- who cares
EAGELS- cos they are crap at the G and if they beat us in 2 week my opinion will change but, they will need to play better than what they did against the tigers almost 10 goals better.

If you put in a performance like 1988 or 2000 then you are the team we'd most like to meet in the GF.Can you say CHOKE.

if u played essendon in 2000 u would have been smacked to, and in 88 i was on 1 so that year doesnt bother me.

Any team wuld have been beaten by the bombers, if they lost if would have been the biggest shame in AFL history.
Which could be WC path this year may only lose 3 or 4 all year and could go down GF day unless they are playing the cats.

vs Richmond.Wirrpunda was missing in both btw who is our best rebounding defender.

Brown, Hartigan, Rodan & Tambling are more than 1 player buddy. BTW, you can thank the umps for that win. That goal disallowed of Krakouers and the advantage decision to Bowden were a disgrace and in a close game like that cost us the match. No one likes to use umpires as an excuse, but 2 disallowed goals in a match decided by 2 points, in the end decided the game. DISGRACE.

GO TIGES!!!

oh yeah and in the last quarter when your 3 Richmond players dragged it in with no West Coast players around 30 m almost straight infront of goal no holding the ball did not rob us?Both teams were robbed and Bowden didn't have any pressure on him and he took up the chance to kick it.

Sounds like a cry to me.

And about the advantage decision, the umpire was absolutely correct, and Wallace said in the post-match interview that this was so. Same things happen in rugby now; if you get advantage, you can't just ping at a drop goal and expect possession if you miss. Your players just need to know the rules better.

The result stands, so no more excused from either side.

It's called '1991' , then we bounced back the next year and won the whole thing.Melbourne bounce back , then go down again every 2 years like a yo-yo but haven't actually won a flag since 1964?

Nope - none of us are forgetting where the AFL grand final is being held.

I would simply be stoked to make the grand final this year - win or lose. Alot of Eagles supporters think that this year is ahead of schedule and that our best is still a year or so away.

As this group matures - they will get over the Melbourne hoodoo - and then it will simply be a matter of who is better on the day.

Here Here

Me thinks its the armchair ride the VIC teams get playing 17 odd "Home Matchs" that lulls them into a false sense of secirity & form come Finals time.
