Gary Dempsey's #24 for me. I was shell-shocked when he went to North, I've really only forgiven him in the last couple of seasons when he has been at training a lot doing ruck tuition.

In fact one of the highlights this season for me has been watching The Hawk kicking the ball to Wynd and Dempsey contests. Oh and the smile on Dempseys face when he outmarked Darcy three times in a row.

My first jumper was given to me shortly after i was born. Number 31. It was too big, by the time i got to wear it to a game it was Phil Krakour's number!!! :(

I've never worn anyone's number on my footy jumper. Of course, when you're 25 when you get your first one, you miss the childhood joy of wearing a hero's number. When my now 21 year old Godson/nephew was born, I sent him a Footscray jumper with 31 sewn on the back. Oh, the shame of it all! Don't get me started on that one again! ;) :D

I'm in the same positon as you Chicago - I wouldn't wear one now and I don't particulary have a fav player but I have manage to purchase a couple of guernseys in the last year.(in a effort to support the club of course)

I bought one of the new On-Field polyester jumpers the day before I left Melbourne two years ago as a final footy souvenir. I was pressed for time and I had to get it at Myer in the city. It's an XXL and was skin tight on me so has never been worn! And after two years of home cooking..... ain't no way.... no way at all!!!

I've decided to wear my Millennium Force roller coaster shirt, Cubs baseball cap and red, white and blue scarf to Sunday's match - symbols of my evil ;) addictions. Hmmm...... will also have to wear my Crown Casino socks to keep to the day's theme!:D

Im tempted to break the beanie out this Sunday :D

Same as PC, the great Douglas Hawkins. Since then I have had Danny Del're :D , Matty Dent and the Great One

I also got a number 51 off a friend when he grew out of it. He got it for Magic McLean by the time I got it, it was Zuonomir Suto :)

Every Game I ever played was in the good old #7 jumper.
I don't know why, I just chose it in early Juniors and kept it in whichever team I went to after that.

Number 5 for me, but i only played footy years 1992-94, does anyone remember who was number 5 at that time? I believe Smith was 31 for a couple of years but then changed to 5.

No.18 for Simon Beasley. I cried when he missed that shot on the siren against the Bears. They are cheats, building that human wall (if you can call Queenslanders humans).

This guy would have to be one of the most underrated players in VFL/AFL history. A truely excellent full-forward who is not given the respect he deserves.

Yes but he is a stck broker and thus rightfully shunned.

My number 23! For Simon Atkins, believe it or not.

I wore number 14 but not on a footscray jumper, number 14 for Bobby Skilton on a South Melbourne jumper that my dad made me wear. Not bad colours the red & white though, the same colours as the mighty red devils " Nth. Footscray". By the way they play the Hammerheads this week so come down & enjoy the day.

No.3

The number worn by my all time favorite player John Devine.

I suppose I had better explain myself  .

JD played in the red and the blue for the mighty North Hobart Demons the team I supported as a little kid when living in Tassie. He was the master of the hip and shoulder and as coach took us from wooden spooners to premiers in one season. Think he coached us to 3 flags, maybe 4 in 2 stints. What a legend :) .

(Just think of what North Hobart has given to the Dogs in recent years; Darren Davies, Simon Minton-Connell, James Cook, David Noble, Chris Bond. Now I'm sure you will all be eternally grateful to them for that!)

Then Alan Stoneham, my first real favorite Dogs player, came along for the Dogs and he was also no.3. So any footy guernsey I wore always had a 3 on it. :)

You had Danny Del-re's jumper? You must have been the envy of the land!

Zvonimir Suto is a legend. His performance in the 94 Reserves GF should be lauded for football eternity.

I challenge anyone to name a greater Bulldogs player that wasn't on our list that played for us but never played seniors  !:)

No 2 Bernie Quinlan, the jumper was given to me by my grandparents which was funny because my grandfather was not a Bernie fan because as he said he never lived up to his potential at the Dogs. Given his performance at Fitzroy he may have been right

Mine was 21 because it was the only one that would fit me, now when ever I play I demand to wear number 21 (haven't played for about 8 years though)...

good luck I suppose.

my first jumper

i never had any number on my jumpers........ there is still a no8 one lying around waiting to be sown on lol (its been sitting in the house for almost 10 years).

I wouldve loved to have had the great zeno tatzaris' number on my back though.... he was my fav player as a kid after meeting him at a family day picnic.
