Opinion What stage of the game did you know we would win?

For me it was when Menegola was complaining he had touched a clear mark to Bolton. Reeked of panic and desperation from the Cats and thought they were helpless to stop the onslaught.

When Bews kicked to Menegola in the back pocket and Bolton marked over his head and gave it to Lambo to kick the goal in the 3rd.

When dusty kicked that goal in the second quarter and started pumping us up. Thought we were flat and gone before that.

When Lynch kick the goal from the square that’s when I felt comfortable to say we had the game ... my 3 daughters were taking the piss out of me because I kept saying we need one more goal.... geez I was tense

You could just see the hunger in his eyes and him willing the rest of the team to lift with his celebration!

My nerves stopped at that point...took a while for my head to catch up, but got that feeling in my gut!

Not until Dusty's third in the last quarter. The confidence definitely started building after Dusty's goal at the end of the second.

I vividly remember saying to my dog at half time "we can come back from that." The dog was f***in' amped because I was yelling and carrying on at the TV, maybe he knew though.

I feel like this every game.. When Jack was lining up i was saying we need a point to make it 3 straight goals , when he kicked the goal i said we will be hard to catch now... i think there was a couple of mins left

Half time - you could see the body language, we were pumped. Ok maybe not 100% that we'd win at that stage but 100% convinced we'd make a serious run and force Geelong to win it. 10 inside 50's in a row to finish the half was telling

That being said I was never really nervous through the whole game.

Yeah Prestia’s goal for me. Even rewatching the game yesterday brought back that same feeling. Knew if we kicked the first goal of the last term that we were on- and the build up to that goal was telling. Swarming runners everywhere, Geelong chasing tail, even the celebration post-goal. I went from very pessimistic at half time to feeling like we’d win it.

#by the way, how absolutely shithouse were Geelong to allow him to be unguarded at that point? I think it was Blicsavs (?) who just sank back and guarded space 20m back. The valuable space that he guarded witnessed the ball majestically arcing over it to bounce thru and snuff out any hope of a Cats win. I don't know if Cats fans are up in arms over that but it's a bit like Hotel Quarantine...who was responsible for that strategy??? I'd want their head. Scotty won't remember I'll bet. Maybe it was a creeping assumption? (sorry, way off track).
