maybe i,m a bit naive but why in the hell do members have to buy tickets to a home game(with an away jumper!).its bad enough that we can,t afford to stand up to these arrogant w***ers who have won 1 flag in 50 years, but it really makes me wonder why i bought a membership in the first place!

Your membership ticket doesn't guarantee you entry to games. It gives you free access depending on availability. A reserved seat in addition to your membership guarantees you entry (and a fantastic seat too). It is well worth your while getting a reserved seat next year.

Why don't you take a deep breath and relax.
You buy a membership because you love the NORTH MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB.
The new club administration knows what they are doing so stop whingeing and put your faith in those in charge and keep on supporting yor club by buying a membership.

Honestly what are you expecting for your money, directorship!!!!

With all due respect, I believe it was those sorts of condescending sentiments from a former CEO of the club that left many, many supporters feeling rather disenfranchised.

The guy asked a reasonable question and deserves a more reasonable answer - the type he got from year of the roo. :thumbsu:

I was told you only say 'with all due respect' to cover up the fact that you think what the other person said was absolute rubbish. Anyhoo, I agree with what you said fd.

A reasonable answer is only required to a reasonable question.
My answer was in no way condescending but merely a response to an over the top rant,
I do think that many of you are being a tad too precious.
The attitude of our former CEO in no way bears any resemblance to my comments.

You don't have to buy an entry ticket but you do have to buy a reserved seat as it has been declared an all ticketed game. Your membership covers the entry portion but not the reserved seat portion. This will cost you extra unless you were one of those who purchased a reserved seat for the season, in which case it will cost you nothing.

If you don't have a membership you will need to pay for entry and a reserved seat.

For some other clubs, it is mandatory that you buy a reserved seat to every home game. We get off very easily with the cheapest base membership going. Dig a little deeper. Buy the reserved seat. You really don't have the moral high ground on this issue.

Yeah, and if you can't afford to "dig a little deeper" because you've struggled to even afford the basic membership, then you definitely can't afford to have an opinion, and you should be embarrassed for even trying to take "the high moral ground". :thumbsu:

I have a NMFC membership and I am also a cheer squad member. I have a seat reserved for me in the cheer squad this week, so that should be enough for me to walk in with my membership and cheer squad reserved seat. Correct me if I am wrong..

A BF newbie from Healesville who bought a membership deserves some respect and I agree with the away jumper comment.

However, I can assure you that as someone who is both an AFL member and has a separate reserved seat North membership that this would be the first time I can remember North having a fully ticketed home game.

And isn't it fantastic?

Your point being? You might just as well argue that an armchair membership is not fair because it doesn't get you games admission. Or that the cost of entry to a game is not fair because it discriminates against those who can't afford it? Why take a pot shot at the club because you haven't got a membership that guarantees a seat at the game? It is NOT the club's fault.

Yeh im part of the cs but siting on the wing. If you returned your form and got a reply stating you have seats then you do as per usual and collect tickets before the game.

I agree, 100%.

Hows this for an imaginative membership question?

I was thinking about going to a Brisbane game at the Gabba, and my Aussie roos membership clearly has "Admits to any 5 games" printed on the back...

Will it get me into a non-north match like it promises, or is it taking for granted the fact than no one but a complete ####wit would even think about suing it in a non-north match?

Why can't you just stop criticising and support the club!

Yeah give it a crack I reckon.

If the non reserved seat membership allowed you in to a ticketed only game, it would be a reserved seat membership. You wouldn't get it at the price you do, either. I understand the question, and your desire to see the game. You will need to purchase the seat. What the membership does (besides letting you into NEARLY every game you're entitled to), is to give you first crack at tickets before being released for the Magpies and general public.
I know that we North supporters haven't had this issue come up very often, but it really is a good problem to have.
I hope you go and enjoy the game, but if you can't afford the seat, enjoy it on tv and we'll see you at the next home (or Melbourne depending on your membership) game

Massive difference.

in reply to the people who replied to my message i actually bought 2 memberships for myself this season to help the club out so it wasn,t for financial reasons that i was unhappy about paying extra for the collingwood game, for the last 20 years i have bought a membership i assumed that it gave me entry to all the home games!

Has all this debate cleared things up for you? :)

Your membership definitely gets you entry to all home games. Usually at Docklands you can get a general entry seat on the top level once you are in - but the crowd for this game is so big that there will only be reserved seats, which you pay extra for and must book (unless you paid in advance for a season seat as part of your reserved seat membership package).

As someone else said, it's not an issue we usually have to face but it's a welcome one for a home game. Should be a huge night.
