so the dreaded footy show returns tomorrow, and for a show that many say they do not watch, im pretty sure youll all be watching to see how the breaking news stories of this week will be treated,

as it is not collingwood players involved im sure that there will be a pretty long discussion on the matter, and the way sam newman treats women im sure theyll take the sensitive approach:rolleyes:

I'd imagine it will be the 3 footballing panellists mouthing useless cliches, Eddie saying that they cannot comment as it is with the police and Sam saying something in bad taste whilst attempting to be humorous.

I don't watch the crap anyway

at the start of last weeks NRL footy show Paul "Fatty" Vautin said that wern't going to comment on the bulldog's rape charge's as it wasn't a footy issue.

i can see Ed saying the same thing.its a legal issue and if sam and Co gob off about it they might find them selves in court.

I think they will get Emirates to fly in the head of Sony to tell us about the new modules included in the new Lexus. Should be very informative in between all the membership drives for the battlers. Hope we don't have to watch too much of them uva mobs but.

They won't be happy with just that story, I'm sure they'll have to break some even bigger news!! I really don't think Sam or Eddie could have anything interesting to say on the subject, I'm more interested in the new series of the House of Bulger - Bulger MD.

I would think in this situation, Sam Newman would be mature enough to be sensitive to the allegations.

Bulger MD starts as well this week - so Crawf better not have a shocker next week or the spotlight will most likely shift anyway

You sound like quite an expert on the format considering you don't watch it.... Oh yeah, no one watches it - somehow it still rates well...

when the season proper starts i usually watch the foxtel teams program you at least get to see your team for more than 5 seconds,

eddie thinks hes god helping the lower clubs, its all a big put on anyway,

I thought the Footy Show was about everything BUT Footy. So maybe it will get a mention. ;)

The Footy show and shows of this ilk have a lot to answer with the culture that surrounds football.
Every week on this show there is sexual inuendo, girls with thier **** out, Sam groping some girl (ala last weeks street talk) a wink and a nudge, it'll be allright mate!
Shows like this portray football as rampant with this culture and the Footy Show just playes on this and encourages this. I ask the producers of the footy show, if you are serious about helping to address the issue of rape and sexual assault in football and society in general, tone down the show, cut our the inuendo, crass jokes, girls wiith exposed ****, treating womwn like objects etc, and focus just of the football.

The footy show started last week.

Plus I think they will tread very carefully.
I think the lawyers representing various people and groups will be watching it very closely.

I think thats all pretty fair comment actually. I'm going to be interested to see their take on this, and it'd be a bit rich if they got get sanctimonious about it given that Sam is more or less the poster boy for the larrikin side of footy.
