Definitely less risky to go straight to streaming, studios have to believe something has market viability to put it in cinemas.

I wouldn't call Black Bag a B movie though, it's a respected director, clever screenplay elevated by movie stars and a great supporting cast. It's a shame more people aren't seeing it.

As they discussed on the Big Picture, with the short window from theatrical release to streaming/VOD these days (often around 20 days), there isn't that urgency to go see something at the cinemas anymore.
