they have scraped the rule that the all australian team gets the international rules series job because most of the AA team dont want to play. but you would think alot of the AA team will be asked to play but i expect most of the players will be from Essendon.

apparently there is going to be more aboriginal players in the squad compared to the last few yrs.
It will be choc-a-block full. :)

It is after all, Kevin Sheedy.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Michael Long playing myself.

Ok. That's a good idea, as players who make the AA aren't necessarily suited to the round ball game.

No you would want a team of 15 midfielders and forwards like Robbo and backs no bigger or slower than a Maxie/B Voss size and speed.

Fletcher will be goalkeeper.

Good move, his sharp elbows will be handy too!

For mine Id like speedsters like our Aboriginal players to be included, as well as Rwoldt, Hall and Embley, all of whom can play the game.

Question: now that kennelly is an australian citizen will he play for us or them?

should be an interesting series to watch, with a lot of dash & flair and classy indigenous players...

who knows what crazy scheme sheedy has thought up....
And it could also be a real battle royale. We all know that these games have a bit of extra biff in them, but throw in some indigenous players with a slightly volatile nature (excuse the generalistation) and we've got a real powder keg.

Why? Just because he's an Australian doesn't stop him also being an Irishman.
Its generally accepted in world sport (and I know it is questionable to call this a sport) that once you become naturalised you play for that country and not for your country of birth. But in this case I couldn't really care...
