Watching last nights game where geelong seem to have a team complimented by late gets such as close and mannagh for example that are afl quality,

Brisbane also no trouble covering coleman with depth. Both teams had no passengers.

We simply dont have the capacity to find much value putside tbe 1st round with occasional hits in the second and the odd late find like souva and zurhaar in the rookie draft. . Unless something changes iam not sure at this rate we will ever have decent depth regardless how good our top talent is.

Simply cant be going forward punting on the likes of sellers, biggy, ccj and laz for example. Getting darling just illustrates the point more.

Not sure if we pick up a Parker or Houston from here but the way I see it, the likes of the following roll into next season as "depth":

Ford, Stephens, Fisher, Phillips, Bergman, Goater, Hardeman, Dawson, Dawson.

Now if you are Clarko, there really should be some plan if we pick up a Parker and a Darling.

We saw Lobb go from out the door, to CHB, due to an abundance of talls.

So, can Clarko move a Fisher into a small forward where we have no depth, if we get a Houston?

Parker and Darling to me, means Ford would need to play wing. Not sure he can play HB but Ford is above VFL quality and behind our other pseudo tall forwards.

We need our player development to take the next step. With that a few guys like Hardeman, Bergman, W. Dawson, Ford, RHJ and Maley start playing consistent AFL footy. A bit of luck to get Goater, Logue and George on the park 15+ weeks of the year would help too.
