Believe what you want, emotions don't change reality
Exactly. I've been telling the mindless disciples this for years now.

Facts are facts.

Peter Jackson was brought in to fix the club. Paul Roos was brought in to fix the club on-field.

Peter Jackson did his job well. When Paul Roos left Melbourne has just been flogged by 110 points and had a trajectory that is 100% expected given the influx of talent they had had.

And yet, they still sucked. It wasn't until they brought in more good players and the young ones developed further under Goodwin that they actually came good - 5 fu***ng years after Roos left!

That's just facts.

Peter Jackson fixed the club with how it was financially run

Roos fixed the running of the football department and culture

It wasn't about winning games back then, it was rebuilding a club from the ground up. Roos did a great job, you may have a different opinion, which is perfectly fine, but it's also irrelevant.

Paul Roos IIRC has never been able to reconcile any of the old Fitzroy FC in the Brisbane Lions (I vaguely remembering reading a quote from him about that many years ago)

Its a shame for old time Roys fans, but I have little doubt Roos considers himself a staunch Swans person these days, he did a very good job bridging the divide (and there was one) between old time/Melbourne Based Swans/South Melbourne supporters and the Sydney Swans fans from NSW.

I was very happy that long time and passionate South Melbourne Swans fans like Jim Main got to see a flag or two in their lifetime before they passed away, and I honestly reckon that meant a lot to Roos as well.

Roos helped the Sydney based Swans fans embrace the "Bloods Culture and History" (least as far as I know, happy to be corrected on that)
