The age old question, Who is the best bodybuilder the world has ever seen.

Some say Arnie, Some say Ronnie Coleman, Some say Jay Cutler, Some say Phil Heath or Kai Greene or even a Dorian Yates.

What do you guys think.

Dude does some weird poses to. Their is a vid of him and Phil on stage together, He makes Phil looks small. Not really sure on what kind of a person he is though.

they have quotes of his all over the gym - the one I stare at all the time is words to the effect:

"it is better to be the sort of person to observe rather than the sort of person do get in and do the damned thing" - WTF does it mean????

Second in last year Mr.Olympia. Only Phil is stopping him from winning it. You cant argue with the title man

With the exception of Frank Zane and Lee Haney, you've mentioned the greatest bodybuilders of all time. These guys were all dominant in thier era, and then you have a non winner in Greene.

They're by no means "the best", but I reckon guys like Ken Waller, Paul Dillett, Eddie Robinson, Chris Dickerson (despite having an Olympia win) and Nasser El Sonbaty are extremely underrated historically.

For me, Frank Zane's physique is the GOAT. Am a big fan of Dorian though too.

All things considered it's gotta be Arnie. He pretty much put bodybuilding on the map for the person on the street.

I love all the guys from that era - they were before my time but I feel like a grew up with them because reading stories from Arnie's era is what first got me interested in the sport.

Doherty's gym?

“There’s something to be said for being a person that stands on the side of life watching other people live it, versus being the person that’s out there doing the damn thing!”

tl;dr
>shut up and squat

Yep City Gym - doesn't it mean its better to be a spectator than a participant - not exactly inspiring!!

I would have interpreted it the same as Contra.

'There's something to be said' is usually meant in positive terms. In this case I assume Kai (was it?) just stuffed up what he was trying to say.
Yeah I get the confusion but I think "there's something to be said" can be either positivie or negative depending on the context.

Here's another Kai Greene quote,

QUESTION

Do you keep a log of all your meals and nutrients consumed?

ANSWER

No. There’s something to be said for just doing the damn thing. There are people out there who want to focus on every little detail, every gram of sodium and protein and carbs and whatever. It’s like they want to one-up the professional bodybuilders and say they know more about nutrition than the people onstage. Maybe they do. I’m not where I am because I know more about nutrition than everyone else on the planet. The top bodybuilders onstage are not there because they know more about training science and nutrition than the average person sitting in the audience. A lot of times the difference between the person onstage and the person in the audience is their use of the knowledge. The people onstage have the discipline; they put in the work. So don’t overthink things that shouldn’t be that complicated. Just do the damn thing.

Personally I think Kai is a monster. If you have watched the train with Kai videos, His thought process and the way he goes about training is unique to say the least.
