Like I have said in the past, even though Schnitzengruben keeps loling my posts. I have heard bits and pieces but I’m not 100%. The latest I have heard is that Yze has the job.

But like I said, I could also be wrong. Not correct in response to that post is a poor choice of words.
An educated guess would tell you that Yze has been the favourite from the get go. I very much doubt Hird was ruled out of the job a week ago like you said.

Scooter who is pretty well connected said last night - Cant share everything I was told but i thought personally myself Yze was 90% likely to get the job tbh and realising its quite more open and not as obvious as I thought.

Either way, no decision has been made and not every applicant has even applied. All "X has the job" posts and vice versa are rubbish.

If Hird was ruled out he wouldn’t have gone on the Grand Final Lunch panel saying he hasn’t been told yet and he’s hoping to get the job and if he doesn’t he’s glad he got to go through the process and won’t die wondering etc

That said it is interesting that Yze has had a second interview and a tour of the facilities, and then been spotted at the U18s grand final with Dodoro yesterday.

Possibly the media is working on incomplete information and perhaps other second interviews have happened without their knowledge (though not Hird as he said as much).

As you said it’s very much up in the air still.

No one can 100% know who has the job as the panel has not presented to the board yet and the board has not made a decision.

He’s AFL GM and is waiting until after the grand final, maybe he thought it would be a distraction in the last week or 2 leading up. Who really knows but the fact that he’s had AMPLE time to come out and say he’s not interested.. he clearly is interested. Let’s hope he does some sort of process
I think he wins if he does
On what basis do you think he wins if he goes through the process?

I can't imagine any of these former head coaches who now have cushy media/executive jobs ever wanting to coach again. Probably get paid 25% of what they were as coach while only having to do 1% of the work and 0.5% of the stress, while that 25% would still have them in the top 2% of salaries in Australia. Why on earth would someone like Brad Scott or Ross Lyon or Nathan Buckley ever quit their current jobs to coach again?
I'm interested to know what percentage of your writing was composed of random petcentages you've plucked out of nowhere.

Given his posting history. 99% of it :p

I think that photo of Dodoro and Yze watching the U18's is pretty telling.

Why would they be watching the next crop of possible recruits together if the job wasn't already his ?

Would Dodoro have done this with all the other applicants ?

Reckon it’s Yze’s job if Scott doesn’t apply. If Scott applies it’s his. Then again I would hope Dodoro didn’t give away too much intel to Yze at the u18s if we haven’t already chosen him.
What Intel? Draft a skinny flanker and turn them into a mid? :p

I think Yze more than likely has the job (gut feel). I think it should be Hird though so we are not forever asking the question.

Best case scenario, we win finals (plural) and worse-case scenario we move on from him.

The coterie groups have too much power and I just feel Hird is a stabilising move.

They said they wanted experienced coach and he’s easily the most experienced AFL coach. But also just more of a gut feel. He’s my pick, most successful out of that lot with 2 prelims and a type of guy that would demand respect. But what would I know haha

Your worst case has us stalling as a club, again, for the next three seasons minimum. Hard pass.

Stabilising as in stabilising the fact we're the dumbest football club in the league? I agree
