Yet First Nations players evidently didn’t feel comfortable talking to him about abhorrent allegations or they did and he did nothing. It’s one or the other.
They didn't tell Burgoyne either if reports are correct. It's a reach to lay any blame on players

I'll be happy with whoever they choose in the end.

I'd probably prefer Yze if Williams was coming with him.

Maybe in their outright Scott on his own can lay down the law a little, but history isn't really in favor of recycled coaches, probably the Malthouse did it but he was in his prime too and was poached more than sacked/resigned then went for another job,

Hird I would have 3rd on my list because of history and i would prefer he had done some time as an assistant elsewhere first, but do think he has his strengths.

thanks for bringing up s**t memories btw mate.

I remember i was at a bucks party at the Lowenbrau in Sydney during that EF loss.

after my first 2 Steins we were 40 points up. In the Bag.

After my next 3 we were behind.

******* campaignerS
So what you're saying is you should have stopped at 2 and we would have won so its your fault?

My guess is that any discussion of it would have been pretty limited, and probably not with guys who are senior leaders given they would have been close to Clarkson.

Perhaps Rioli is one who knew more given his own experiences, or perhaps it was simply not something that players ever felt comfortable discussing beyond their most close and intimate circles.

It can also take years to process things that have a traumatic impact. The indigenous players may not have even fully realised the moral implications until much later. That alone could explain why they perhaps didn’t speak up at the time.

I’m all for tarnishing any leadership failings involved with that mess but let’s not Hird* Hodge.

*To Hird (verb) - to implicate guilt by association without due process and/or assumption of innocence.

Don’t think that’s fair. They didn’t talk to Shaun Burgoyne either - a universally respected leader amongst indigenous players.

i thought 3 more would be a 100 point win.
i did the maths in my head at the time!

We need to get moving with whoever is recommended to coach us.
There's probably more than a 50-50 chance that Norf and Lions will have to look for new coaches.

Wonder if Lyon or Scott would take up Brissy if offered ?

I can't see anyone taking on the North job, they'll be in a holding pattern for Clarkson.

They might reach out to Brad Scott to see if he'd take a caretaker role for 12 months if Clarkson is done.

Brisbane could move Fagan on anyway as it looked a bit like they'd capped out under him.

You’re assuming Clarkson would be allowed back.

If he’s done what’s alleged, he should be banned from the industry for life.

No chance Brad Scott takes north they burned him, he wouldn’t leave his AFL gig for a 1 year rental job at the team that dismissed him.

If what's been alleged has been proven, Clarkson is done forever.

There is no redemption from coercing a player to end his child's life, against his will. that is beyond the pale.
