You know you've really made it in life when Dustin Fletcher calls out "hey everybody! It's -insert twitter handle- watching us!" at training.

This is very odd.

Wouldn't it have just been better to give the job to Lyon?

What about the process?
Yeah this is what annoys me too.

Lyon supposedly had to go through the process ... But Scott doesn't ... Because of his record of getting North to a couple of Preliminary finals. Cool.

Appointing Scott will really be a case of throwing the job at anyone with experience and he's what's left on the shelf or at least he didn't come out and say no straight away.

Would it really be too much to ask our football club to undertake a proper coaching selection process and an external review (this has gone very quiet recently too I've noticed ... Maybe a 20% Bombershop discount is on the way)

I think BS might be okay 2nd time around - some of the plaudits have been overblown (especially around 2013-2015) but I honestly think he got stale at North towards the end and both parties should have cut ties a few years prior.

Lyon would’ve skipped the first round of interviews too, had he chosen to be involved.

The standard is different between those who have (recent) senior coaching experience and those who don’t, but Lyon and Scott would’ve gone through the same amount of process.

Well no. It's journalists.
Ross straight up said he didnt think the job was for him at the start of his first contact with the club. It never went further than the initial phone call with Mahoney. Refused the NDA as well and then couldnt wait to spill to anyone who'd listen about his experience being asked to interview for the job. Riveting stuff

Not sure I understand all of the hand-wringing over Scott being "offered" the job sans process. He's following the precise process that was outlined at the beginning of all this. Inexperienced coaches would proceed through a first and a second round of interviews/appraisal, with experienced candidates able to go straight into the second round.

This is what is happening. Where is the controversy.

Lyon did not want to interview at all. Scott is not going to just turn up with a coffee and talk about umpire decisions and how much rain we have had. They are going to do an official interview.

Lore explained it but the coaches with previous experience where not going to do all the interviews. Scott is going to go through the same process Lyon refused to be a part of. He still has to present his vision for the club.

So basically all media report are guessing.

No one will know until the end of the process.

If Hird is going for a second interview then how can he be ruled out?

Who said he was ruled out?

It’s a three horse race between Scott Yze and Hird at this point.

Gia, Cara, Lade and Solomon have/will also interview for it. Lade is the only one we know to be out as he’s just gone to the dogs as an assistant.

Probably just the inferrence from the media.

Your'e right, no one has specifically said it.

Even the few around that tend to ave club connections have said they aren't getting anything from their contacts on who it will be so be so likely the media are guessing the usual channels aren't talking. Maybe some have some good contacts, but it seems there have not been any real leaks so far.

Would the general consensus be we are down to the final three?
