Lyon did not want to interview at all. Scott is not going to just turn up with a coffee and talk about umpire decisions and how much rain we have had. They are going to do an official interview.

Is the outcome predetermined before the interview takes place? That's how it is sounding.

As I type this Edmund is still saying that we're still trying to talk him in to participating.

Is Brad Scott that good that we need to be talking him into it at this late stage? Ought that persistence have been directed to the man that has lost 3 gfs by a total of 25 points and finished top twice, in addition to re-writing the way the game was played?

This has become so nonsensical and contradictory that I'm starting to think there is the fix everyone is scared of.

Yes, let’s keep knocking on the door of the guy who publicly outed himself of the job on national television.

Your brain is making this nonsensical.

When it was first a possibility Lyon basically said come and get me.

He then had some conversations which indicated that he would be part of an application process which is beneath him. That then got publicly revised after 2 or 3 days that it would not require participation until later in the process. He also then said something about the vibe, with it not being clear what that was directed to when he publicly withdrew.

When I say "ought that persistence have been directed" it is past tense. It is a reference to the point in time that all we had to do was give him the job, if all we are doing now is giving the job to a vastly inferior coach.

As for whether we are giving the job to Scott, are we still working to the Friday deadline? Has he still not decided? Is he going to nail an interview he hasn't yet committed to having so much that he'll be coach by then?

What does that say about Yze? Or does he just need Mark Williams to interview with him?

What are you expecting people to say to this?
What does it say about Hird?

I'm with you so far, but then...

if all we are doing now is giving the job to a vastly inferior coach.

We aren't doing that, as has been clearly pointed out. It's also been reported we have been talking to Scott for a month. Plenty of time for him to pull out if he didn't want to sit through an interview.

Pure speculation, so not sure how you can draw any conclusions.

What does that say about Yze?

Nothing. Chill out brother.

Relax mate, stop reading the headlines and parasite journos opinions and trust that we are finally going through a proper process.

Lyon did not say come and get me. He loved the attention that his name was being thrown about and then had 1 single phone call with Mahoney. During that 1st phone call he ruled himself out. I think hes a great coach too but theres nothing you can do if he refuses to even interview.

I think that if you want to see fix then you will see what you want. Anyone who wants the job will have to interview.

If Hird is selected, the anti-Hird crew will cry it was a sham process.

If Scott is selected, the pro-Hird crew will cry it was a sham process.

If Yze is selected, half the people will wonder what was the purpose of replacing Rutten, 10 people will cry it was a sham process and Lewis just hired his buddy and the remaining will be pissed at everyone misspelling Adem.

Scenario 3 is my favourite
