I can't believe Brad Scott is winning the poll... would rather Woosha back.

on a different note, this "from a reliable sauce" message has been doing the rounds

“The Hawthorn report has been under lock and key for months, though knowledge existed at AFL exec level and an agreement with the named individuals embargoed until Brisbane had completed its season. Kevin Sheedy was tipped off about this report through his deep connections with indigenous Australia and sabotaged Essendon’s attempts to lure Clarkson and in the process toppled the Essendon board to protect the club from another public relations disaster. Current favourite for the Essendon role, Adam Yze will not be appointed to the role as will be implicated in the review with the decision to be announced after the grand final and James Hird appointed under Kevin Sheedy’s direction. Media speculation about Brad Scott being a late entrance to the Essendon process is just that, he will be joining Brisbane in the coming weeks to coach his old team. Hawthorn are absolutely filthy on this though the ability to tie Clarkson to these allegations is limited, with Fagan to wear the bulk of the blame. Hawthorn currently looking at their options to Withold a final payment on his contract. Clarkson’s agreement with North Melbourne leveraged the huge cap it had and unusual risk free upfront signing bonuses were awarded with no recourse. This places North in a ridiculous position that not only will they potentially need a new coach, but their ability to pay a new coach is severely impaired and thrust them back into debt. I’ve heard Jed Anderson is at the centre of Hawks allegations and he went to ABC and leaked his side of the story recently as he’s not happy Clarko is his coach again at Roos”

take that with as many grains of salt as you want

It's not really sabotage is it? More like due diligence.

If Sheedy knew wouldn’t the thing have been for him to tip off Barham before going down that path?

Some silly, and very typically Sheedy cryptical remark, about Clarkson coaching North is supposed to be the reason for this.

Sorry but the rumor as it has been expressed doesn't even get off the ground.

been at sea for 3 weeks, haven't caught up yet
Meh, not much to report. I mean Hird is up to his neck in returning as our senior coach. Fagan and Clarkson have stepped down from senior coaching roles due to allegedly pressuring an indigenous player to terminate a pregnancy and forcibly removed them from their partner. And the queen died.

Former North Melbourne coach Brad Scott will interview for the Essendon coaching job on Thursday after deciding he is ready to re-enter the AFL coaching ranks.

Scott, 46, has made the big call to throw his hat into the ring for the position and will speak to the Bombers’ coaching selection panel about his interest in returning to AFL coaching.

Scott, who is the AFL operations boss, has the league’s blessing to go for the job.

The decision from Scott is a welcome development for Bombers’ chiefs who were eager to secure an experienced replacement for Ben Rutten after his messy late-season exit.

Scott spent nine-and-a-half years at North Melbourne and led the club to two preliminary finals and remains highly-respected in the industry.

But Scott will have to be part of Essendon’s selection process from here in a battle against Melbourne assistant Adem Yze for the job.

Scott’s experience likely makes him the favourite to win the gig and take over a club which has not won a final since 2004.

Former coach James Hird is also in the mix but is at longer odds to win the job.

Scott has spent the past few weeks weighing up whether to formally declare his interest in the Bombers’ coaching job.

Scott said at a function recently coaching would always be an itch he would want to scratch.

“The only truthful answer that I can give you is there is always going to be a coaching itch … always. I don’t think that will ever go,” Scott said.

“The choice is do you choose to scratch that itch? That is not something I have contemplated to this point.”

Scott said he had relished the senior position at the AFL this season.

“I love the role at the AFL. I see the really important role,” Scott said.

“The game has given me so much, this role is partly giving a bit back to the game.”

Flip of a coin for me. My gut says Yze is still front runner for no reason whatsoever.
I think Scott will get the job, but I think Yze if Williams comes with him is very appealing too, don't think its anywhere near as over as the media are making out, most of the usual peeks that know things have all said they aren't getting anything so very likely the media are guessing. Think Hird is well out of it now.
Panel: "Hi Brad, hope you're well ... "

BS: "Yeah alright ... "

Panel: "Welcome aboard Coach"

Process :whitecheck:
Don't thinks it anywhere near that set, no doubt we've been in is ear for a little while about where he sits, what we're after etc there are enough independent people on the panel to not be railroaded IMO. I was far more fearful Hird would almost get there by default.

All 3 have their appeal,my preference would be Yze/Willams.

Scott has his appeal can be very strong minded and may be what we need the concern I have isn't so much with Scott himself just that recycled coaches very rarely work.

Hird, if he had an assistance role with the likes of Syd/Geelong/Rich I would be quite welcome to the idea, but too soon too little outside experence

The speculation was that part of the presentation included the coach talking about his team and who they would bring in.

Wonder who Scott would have as his assistants.

I keep reading Yze/Williams, but has Williams ever mentioned he's keen on that?
Because theres a major difference to that and just Yze by himself
I don't think we've heard from him no But the The Age has reported it, the HS have too, someone who has decent contacts on BB said hes been told the same, I don't think its set in stone but would imagine maybe Yze mentioned in his interview maybe he wants WIlliams with him, Essendon may not be leaking here but perhaps those that know Williams have, probably doesn't want ot burn bridges if Yze does get it
