Who says he can not do a zoom meeting and be part of the process ? He would get some credit for being an experienced coach who is still in the game so all he would have to do is present where he thinks the list is and his plan for it if he was interested.

Lyon not wanting to do the process is just his ego. Not sure what he would want. Has been out of the game for a few seasons. He had to present his plan for the list and what he wanted to do going forward. He could not just walk in and say here I am.

How does it make any sense to ditch Rutten for Yze who has never been a head coach, it contradicts that whole week where they were running after Clarkson and let Rutten out to dry with he rhetoric that "Everything needs to change".. I mean, you might as well hire Caracella instead, who has been in more successful teams/clubs than anyone in the league but hasn't been a lead coach. My point is, it's not a good look if we don't go for an experienced and successful head coach, because of our last ten years where nothing really worked. I mean, technically, they probably shouldn't even consider Hird either, especially because during the big 1 hour interview in 2016, he just admitted too many mistakes but was very apologetic, but that's another discussion.

EFC have really backed themselves in a corner here. They sort of have to find the likes of a Lyon, Scott, Hardwick or it goes against what they are trying to look forwards towards, and as we know, Clarkson, Lyon and Cameron aren't happening.

Not really. They have said they want an experienced coach, but it doesn't have to be that way. As long as we get a good one.

Sacking Rutten might have been necessary regardless. We don't know.
If so, we were always going to need a new coach. The board saying we want an experienced coach is just a preference.
