Title says it all really but who and why?

I'd like carrots because I feel like he's been around the block, is vocal and demanding like duigan said and Murphy can easily acquire it after him.

Simmo for me. Heart and soul of the team. He leads by example and will put his body on the line for the team.
Being vice captain for multiple years he obviously has the team's respect and Mick has praised him publicly too. Has also captained before.

Carrots a close second. His leadership is undeniable - the immediate improvement of the team when he came back against the Eagles showed his importance (and I'm not talking his undeniable talent).

As Duigs said Simmo and Carrots would be 2 diff leaders. I just put Simmo slightly ahead of Carrots.

Would love to know if Murph would still have been captain when Judd was suspended this year had Simmo not been injured. But in saying that, Murph did a very good job - was a very vocal leader I thought.
Murph will be captain after Simmo/Carrots.

Andrew Carazzo for me - inspirational example of persistence and seems a good leader. Let's let Murphy play football.

I think the consensus is that there are 3 genuine candidates for the position - Murphy, Carrazzo and Simpson. I wouldn't have thought that the other two members of the 2013 leadership group, Waite and Duigan, are any chance of being named captain.

If it were up to me, this is how I'd rank them:
1) Simpson
2) Carrazzo
3) Murphy

However I expect them to probably be ranked in the exact opposite order.

Whichever way the club does decide to go, I don't think we can have any serious complaints whether it be Murphy, Carrazzo or Simpson. All 3 are good leaders in their own right with their own style and I think all of them would be good captains of the club.

I like the way Carrots get's in the oppos faces and not to mention his undeniable talent...i think he is slightly ahead in the grunt stakes than murph or simmo..but hey not a bad group to choose the leader from....

All 3 would be good on-field leaders.
However, as Judd has just shown, that is only a small part of what being a Captain is these days.

I think Carrots is best placed to deal with the off-field stuff and the media.

Murphy for mine. Is young enough to lead the club for a long time and is respected throughout the competition.

Carrots I think has enough on his plate with his triplets.

Murphy for me, his game seemed to go to another level when he looked after it while the juddman was out suspended this year.

Murphy from the outside seems a bit quiet. However the memory of him pulling the players in at 3qtr time against the Dogs to give them stiff talking to makes me happy either way whether it's him or Carrazz.

Henderson or Robinson. 2 young players; either would captain the club for 8 years or so.

But if I had to choose one of the old fogeys from the leadership group - Simpson. A flairful outside player, who as evidenced by the Wellingham incident, isn't afraid of a contest.

Let Simmo take the limelight, with Carrots and Murph slipping under the radar.

I think its really down to 2 - Carrazzo & Murphy
Simmo while being a great leader is not as vocal which is something u need of a captain.

I think it will come down to whether they accept that Carrazzo will only be captain for 2 years before handing it over to murph or if they should make murph captain right now

Carrots.

Realistically I have no idea as to who is the most suitable, being a complete outsider with no knowledge of the individual characters in line for the job, but from reports (Duigan interview is all I have) he is the most vocal of the contenders.

Do as I do is great and has it's place in terms of preparation and in terms of inspired acts on the field but a well delivered speech at the right time by the right person can also do incredible things.

Carrazzo has refined and developed his game to the point where he has the respect as a player but also appears to have 'voice' to go with it.
