You really have a bee in your bonnet over Hawkins don’t you? It’s bordering on obsession.
Why does it bother you when I point out a fact? It’s bordering on obsession.

It doesn’t bother me at all.
44 year premiership drought wasn't that long ago.. you can thank Steve Bracks for all those Victorian Government leg ups!It seems like for some Tigers supporters, Geelong’s success is like an STD that won’t stop itching. Sooner or later you’ll realise it’s there for life. Best you find a way to manage that itch.
Kudos for nearly lasting a full week before letting the veil slip.44 year premiership drought wasn't that long ago.. you can thank Steve Bracks for all those Victorian Government leg ups!
We assembled a decent chunk of our 2022 premiership team from Rookies, 30+ picks, delisted free agents, and clever trades.Do you think you can constantly contend without getting top 10 picks and having a enough draft capital to trade in good players?
And before you say you have Hawkins was an expected top 5 pick. So you actually have never done it yet.

With Hawkins who got an AA (c) that year. Rookies always look good when stars cover up the cracks. We were the same and now we are stuck with those “roles players” who do f all.
Hawkins, Hawkins, Hawkins!
Feels like 2016-2021 where we could pinch a flag if everything goes right, but realistic finish is top 4 and preliminary final.Geelong always seems to have a good balance of youth and veterans. Looked good against the Bombers and could easily be the best of rest, excluding Carlton and Sydney.
Wins against top 8 sides mean very little when the team in 3rd is only 2 wins above the team in 13th.Well we must be good now as our record is 4-2 against top 8 sides.
Last week we sucked and people would point to our top 8 record being poor.
It’s amazing what a win against Essendon can do.
Gifted Pick 7 by the Gold Coast AFL puppet franchise.. why was that trade allowed to happen?? It went against the integrity of the National Draft. We assembled a decent chunk of our 2022 premiership team from Rookies, 30+ picks, delisted free agents, and clever trades.
Because Steve Hocking said so and Gerard Whateley wrote a puff piece allowing it. Duh.Gifted Pick 7 by the Gold Coast AFL puppet franchise.. why was that trade allowed to happen?? It went against the integrity of the National Draft.
To steal a turn of phrase from our brown & gold mates, we really have headf***ed opposition supporters.Because Steve Hocking said so and Gerard Whateley wrote a puff piece allowing it. Duh.
If Geelong could hold off most other clubs in the 5-8 bracket, wouldn't a top 4 ladder finish make a PF likely as they would face one of them in the SF?Will definitely make finals from here, and if they can't get into the top 4 they should have a good combination of finals experience and young talent to hold off most of the other clubs in the 5-8 bracket: GWS, Port, Melbourne, Bulldogs, Essendon.
The ones that might trouble them are Brisbane in QLD, or Collingwood with a fit team.
In either case (top 4 or a win in an Elimination final) I suspect they will make it to the Semis, but probably not further than that.
