With DT just 4 days and 4 hours away (site clock) , we are all bracing ourselves for any last minute changes that we might need to make in the 160 minutes of maelstrom (as its been described by m0nty)

I have noticed the site has been down at different times this weekend, due to maintenance ?. Is this a sign that it wont be able to hold the rush of people making changes on Thursday, or is it upgrading its technology to handle the rush

Also another bad sign is the fact that the NRL dream team site (which is run by the same company) crashed right before their opening match. People couldn't make changes to their team. Dosnt really give much hope for this site to be running by thursday afternoon

Personally i am not going to try to change my team during this time. I have faith in my rookies to play (if not round 1, then round 2 onwards)

Thoughts ?

Yep, agree with that. Im not too fussed about changing rookie and all that, they should all play R2 at the latest.

Won't be an issue for me. By the time I get home from cricket RD 1 will have commenced. It doesn't really bother me TBH. I couldn't make an changes last year and it worked in my favor in the end.

May I just ask, what time will the teams be released?

and

What time does the match start?

Tigers / Blues on Wednes (5.00pm)

Fri / Sat games at approx 5.00pm Thurs

Squads of 25 for Sunday games at 5.00pm Thurs. These are tightened up on Friday night. 18s will be named who will be in however benches for Sunday games will be 7.

Going to be great fun on Friday night to hear:

'WTF, WHY ISN'T ZIEBELL PLAYING'
or
'SKIPWORTH EMG!'

etc etc.

There will be some at least. :):p

They said and will continue to say they upgraded their servers, but with the fact that DT was open earlier this year and being heavily advertised all over the place there will be many more players putting a bigger demand on the resources.

Add the fact the new interface on the website is complex I'm gonna say we'll have shit hitting the fan again. I'll gladly be proved wrong though.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Who knows, although it's far more likely to not cope.

I've got a lecture at uni from 5-6, so I'll probably use the wireless there to check teams.

Made one change last year which ended up being the right choice.

Team will be well and truly set by Thursday morning, although I can recall the site being fine in the early hours of the afternoon of last year's Thursday.

Sorry just to clear things up.. It is still worth making late changes to your team after 5 because in the case things go wrong you will just revert to the saved team you had before?

But with the way it is now setup the page doesnt need to reload when trading a player out or in. Even if you trade a player out and than it crashes and you cant bring in another player to replace than you just end up with your initial selection if you dont hit the save button. I think im going to try and risk it because of this. If you can log into your side your than safe IMO. You can make as many trades and changes as possible from their. But yeah im going to have everthing set by thursday morning.
