I would just like to wish Mitch well on his road to recovery. I didn't see it very well at the match but watching it on the highlights when I got home that looked nasty and no player should have to go through that.

I also liked to wish Jack and Dale well also and all our players who are currently on the injury list well on their road back to playing footy.

He's going to need a lot of courage and mental strength over the next 12-18 months, quite apart from the dedication needed for his physical rehab.
Jake Stringer might be a very handy confidant and mentor. He is just getting back to full confidence some 5 years after a similar injury.
Moz did a similar thing didn't he? Maybe not as traumatic but I think it was a double break. He could be a great friend too over the coming months.
It's a shocking injury and my heart goes out to him. Seems like a great bloke and clubman.
All the best Wally.

Not sure if I have the right to post but I'm sure there are a lot of Saints fans who wish him well too. Was notning nasty in it and was just a thing of football, doesn't make you feel too good as an opposition supporter to see that happen to anyone, especially when there was no malice in it and he isn't a dirty blusher himself. Wish him all the best and hope to see him back soon.

Just woke up and the first thing I thought of was Mitch and Red. Ever since Nathan Brown broke his leg I've Been extremely sensitive towards these sports injuries and I think I'll continue to give it a pass the vision. Too gut wrenching. Heard the abc interview and extremely saddened for the boys but also extremely proud they are so tight knit as teammates and friends. So Mitch will have a great support network. Like all just feeling really down and hope they make a full recovery from this. It'll be a tough road recovery and they're both the most consummate professionals, especially Wally.

Wishing Red and Mitch a speedy recovery.
Both in some trouble sadly. Red signing a one year deal where he will now miss most of next season is risky but i think the club will look after him.

Also Mitches break was very low near the ankle. The lower it breaks the harder it is to heal right? We may not see mitch at all next season.
Such a shit night. Hope Morris is ok also.

I went to the same school as a young bloke who played
33 games for St Kilda between 1991 and 1994 and then
was delisted and played local footy where he was on
around 3-4K a game. He suffered a similar leg break
which lead to amputation of the leg just above the
ankle. I met him years later in my job and he told me
about it as we talked about school football.

After Mitch went down it was all i could think about as
i was not at the game and don't have foxtell so i could
only rely on the radio coverage. Whether it is Nathan
Brown, Jamie Lawson, Gary Rohan or Michael Barlow
these type of injuries always take me to a dark place
and stay with you for years. Good luck to Mitch and i
wish you a speedy and sound recovery.

Pardon the intrusion..
On behalf of the BF CATS board I would like to take this opportunity to wish Mitch and Jack the speediest and safest of recoveries.

It's a hard game and played as such and no supporter of any club wants to see players go out like that.
All the best.

Go Catters

Your post has made me tear up mate

A terrific young bloke from a great family ; you couldn't imagine how tough it would be on Mitch . Kudos to Nick Riewoldt for reaching out to Wally as he was stretchered off . Hopefully the next few weeks will go as well as they can

Still doesn't make up for his behaviour when Clay was being stretchered off last year.

Doc Larkins said it'll be a 3 month recovery and he'll be back by round 1 2017 all things going well.
Said that it's better when the bones are close to the ankle.
Doc Larkins speaks typical Channel Nine crap ........ he simply makes this bullshit up.
The surgeon who will be undertaking Mitch Wallis' surgery today, Dr David Young was interviewed on radio today and completely contradicted the Doc Larkins garbage assessment.

Violent injury, but should come back fine from it. Good luck.
Feeling for Redpath today, career could be over.
