Back from the Junction Oval and glad I got there just in time to secure a seat in the shade as it was boiling...more on that later. I presume the seating was limited due to safety concerns given the age of the stand.

It was definitely a new ball wicket and so Healy's innings at the top was vital in getting some early momentum. A few balls stopped in the wicket and the ball didn't come on.

Having recently been to the G, the baseball and the tennis, the food and drink options were woeful and it was as if they had planned for the same attendance as the Shield and only a few more. I started to queue at the end of the Australian innings and wasn't back in my seat until a good 40 minutes later. There were a few people in front of me giving off at queueing for ages only for them to have no meat pies or sausage rolls. From what I heard around me in the stands, the toilets weren't up to scratch either with no toilet rolls in many which is sadly ironic.

I was really surprised only 2,826 were in attendance. The baseball had 1,977 last Friday and wouldn't be anywhere near as high-profile for me. Our girls are an outstanding outfit and really deserve to play on a bigger stage especially when you glance at soccer. Would this game have got more at the G?

It was a joy to see Alana King in the flesh. Last time I saw her at the Junction Oval, she went for plenty in the WBBL but she really found her groove today. Ecclestone is also some operator. Hoping to find some time to go to the D/N test although I'll be back at work by then.

Awesome day in the sun, fobbed work off, now pink as a lobster. Great win by the girls, looked like their total was a bit short but ultimately came up with a gritty win. Perry and King obs the stars. Can always find a way to win
