Overcame the bias to win well.
Not sure the depth was strong though, the 2 up & comers ran the quinella.

If it managed a top 10 finish at Flemington it would be a good performance.

I think she will be an outside chance in both cups

but you also must remember that all those that she beat on Saturday will drop in weight significantly for the cups

Piachay lacked any acceleration at all, but I'm not overly disappointed with his 6th. He will drop right down in weight for the Melb Cup, and I am guessing will run in the MV Cup.

Get your money at MV for Piachay. It has no hope of winning at Flemington.
Brisbane Cup winners just dont win Melb Cups, either do Sydney Cup winners.
May run into the top 5 or 6 but IMO has no winning chance.

nahhhh :D

rather back him at Flemington thanks and no doubt will be juicy odds .... he may go round at MV but I would need to see pace in the race before I backed him there

those rules like Brisbane Cup winners don't win Melb Cups, 3yo fillies don't win Melb Cups, and horses with 3 legs don't win Melb Cups don't hold water with me

so unless you fancy an overseas horse, and who knows what the heck is going on with them .... out of the locals, the depth is really lacking .... at least I know a) he is qualified b) he will run the trip c) has been trained for the race d) has no weight on his back ... add all that up and its a big head start

give us a tip then Seth, something at odds .... rather than knock my "maddie", i defy anybody to come up with a better outsider at this stage

Yakama

Unitab $41
Betfair $81
IAS $101

Almost certain of a start now.
Lamings a bit stiff with four of his horses previously
balloted out of the Melbourne Cup.
Going straight into the cup without another run.

Piachay

Not knocking it,just trying to save you some money Pig old boy.

Racing is all about history, especially Melb Cups.
The facts/odds are that Syd/Bris Cup winners dont win at Flemington. That's why they are juicy odds.
Not saying they cant run well, but they always find at least 1(often more) better.

It was hard to win before 1990,now it's clear,if a local is gunna
win it will need to be competitive at WFA.
No locals left at any value.

I tipped the Godolphin 2nd stringer Millstreet in another thread a while ago. They are closer every year to winning it.
Took the big odds to him getting on the plane.
He's coming,he's qualified,he's still $51.

Seth.

fair enough then

gonna go grab some more doubles this arvo

gonna mix up the following

CC

Makybe and Pentastic

MC

Piachay, Vicksburg, Honor Babe and maybe even a little Yakama

can't come into the OS horses, too many fail, having said that, if Vinnie Roe actually fronts up, I might lash at him when the time comes

all my doubles have gone by the wayside except Makybe x Piachay :(
