FLYING HIGHER 37
The Team of the year seems strange as mentioned the league B&F on the bench while call be biased but Scott Muir league leading goal kicker no show and Tim McKail top 4 league B&F very good footballer as I said might be biased.

As for silvan being Metro i agree Cagga what a laugh.

Good luck to the grand finalists in Divvy 2 this weekend looks like the weather is going to be a ripper.

Moin is on the money with the Div 2 GF umpires.
Haven't seen any run for quite a while so can't pass comment.

A couple of guys look like they are being "rested" this week so will see what comes of the big one next week. For mine looks like 4 names fitting into 3 spots.

Yes interesting to see the comp leading goal kicker not getting a spot in the team of the year, wonder if fev will get All Australian this year. What did Tim McKail finish in Warby B&F? win it by a mile??

Tim Mckail had a ripping year. Very good player with pace to burn.

Not bad for a former umpire too!!

Can't fit everyone into the team of the year I guess but Sharp on the interchange is certainly a surprise - he can play. Also think that Norman from Silvan and Gibb and Conrau from Healesville are unlucky too as both had very good years.

Johnboy - 4 into 3 don't go - who would be the four? Kenny McNiece would have to be one wouldn't he?

Anyone's thoughts on 2nd Div Medal, Without watching either time against olinda i assume that Tregoning was a worthy winner. Little bit interesting with runner-up though, while im a big rap for gateso too get 2nd i persoally believe that Brad charman had a little better year Should be intersting B&F count.

Just to keep the them of div 2 going anyone willing to put up a side for team of the year -div 2

i think several players pick themselves but i think the followers of div 2 would have fairly different answers

$ilvan ju$t don't feel like they fit in anymore it $eem$ or are they ju$t di$playing what everyone already knew - weak a$ p*$$.

If that "club" had any $ub$tance they would $tick it out and cop their whack with pride and re$olve.

$uburban $ilvan - Ungraciou$ glory humter$ one day, rabble the next

Win win for all YVMDFL IMO - Alex get to stay in Div 1 because they want to improve and are willing to take a walloping to become a stronger unit. Olinda come back up (sorry Lakers just an opinion) and we still have a couple of great local derby's.

Ease up Cagga, the urban spraul has spread quite significantly in the past 15 years that now Silvan is not that far away as they might once have been to full on suburbia, and with all due respect, its not about the clubs surrounding us and what we can do for them and the league, its about whats best for the SilvanFC & what we can do to secure the extreme long term future of the club, & we think giving people who live in the area the oppotunaty to play EFL without having to drive to Lilydale or Coldstream to train is a good thing for the area, the club has already spent 10 odd years in the EFL in the 60s&70s and we think that now is the time to go back, many people in the valley might say, good, who cares, let them go, good riddance, and others may be unhappy about it & will be sad to see us go, but club fully believes its the 100% correct decision, and now we've made it, we are working hard to make it happen,it still has to be voted on by the 43 EFL clubs & approved by VCFL, its still 4 or 5 weeks away until we know the outcome, but remember Cagga as much as we would like it to ,nothing last forever & things change,& you carn't keep everyone happy at once, its just how it is .

ROFL!:D. Do you get dizzy from going around in circles all the time? First poor Silvan cant recruit players because they are a small town with no poulation to draw on, now they are a metropolitan suburb that has been suddenly engulfed with the urban sprawl. Most people would read that and think your just having a laugh but you actually sound like you believe that tripe.

We said nothing about being poor Silvan,in fact we're fine thanks for asking, one thing that is for sure Lemon Ckicken is that your a CS

I noticed on the discussion board that has just closed that a mischievous question was raised about the possibility of Aussie Jones Gembrook mates following him to Beaconsfield next year.

Just to clear things up, the mates referred to are our coach Travis Marsham and the Clark twins, Ricky and Lee (Gordo).

I can confiirm that both Travis and Ricky have already committed to Gembrook for 2010. Gordo has had injury problems this season and providing he can get himself right, will also be playing with Gembrook in season 2010.

Aussie is a good friend of the Gembrook club, and we wish him all the best with Beaconsfield next season.

LFG. Without having seen much of the lads this year but based on ability my 4 would be Shoebridge, McNiece, Walters and Lemercier. Have no idea really though just going on this weeks selections and who appears to be missing!

Shows the depth must be improving if they can afford to leave guys out with that calibre.

It's a trick they used to use at the VFL where you run the first couple of weeks in the finals, get rested in the Prelim, then go on to run the granny. Prob more of an insurance policy to ensure the guys wanted to run in the big one don't stuff it up by making an error in the Prelim.

Who will win tomorrow? IMO Olinda will win by about 3-4 goals & l think Monbulk should get over Woori on Sunday.
Are your boys ready to go Sid.

ok had a crack, note didn't play against emerald and you could probably put the whole olinda team in with a couple of king lake forwards. Backs were hard, they don't get spruiked as much as forwards or onballers.

Back: Broomhall (OFC) Scoble(yea) Walker (KL)
Half Back: Bilston (bel) Selby (YJ) Murphy (KL)
Centre: Kapakoulakis (TE) Aitkins(Sev) Gates(YJ)
Half Forward: Wilson (sev) Troyahn (sev) McKenna(yea)
Forward:Stevens(OFC) Gallichio(KL) Nott(KL)
Rucks: Charman (YJ) Tregonning(OFC) Troutman(OFC)

I/C ?????

Thoughts?

How'd you find that out??
True! The Hawks are secretly applying to enter the VAFA. The shamateurs suit us perfectly because we don't have any money to spend on players anyway, and it will cut down travelling now that Geelong Am's have gone to the Bellarine FL. Travelling money for Koolie and Frase blew our budget this year for the cost of the bus vouchers.
Recruiting has been nigh on impossible since Nan Cleven stopped producing huge, talented offspring and Luke McCormick took a pay cut commensurate with our policy of paying coaches according to body weight. Sascha Wolfe is pondering new-found wealth by applying for the two's job.
We are also working on being officially recognised as an outer suburb, but we need to open a hotel in Main Street and get a 24 hour petrol station built on park land. Difficult: all the vacant land in town is being used by the eleven bakeries we have and most residents cycle to work. Seems pies are more popular than pilsener (caution got the better of that alliteration!).
When Silvan move, we are taking over their ground as a training venue. Their boys won't travel that far to train, so they won't need it anyway.

resting your so called 3 'best' umps this week for the leagues 2nd and 3rd biggest game of the year is the stupidest thing I've heard yet. I bet Monny aren't resting blokes for next week.

Well we are: Dennison, Clarke, Calcagno, Rutherford, Utting all will be standing on the sidelines - proven grand final specialists saving them for the big day!

We are on the move - to Baynes Park. Its a must after Melbourne Storm decided to run a training camp for 7 local primary schools on our ground on Tuesday after 2 inches of rain. Just the preparation the ground need come finals time.....

A question for Silvan people - did you give the YVMDFL notice that you wanted to leave. From memory the league constitution states you have to give 12 months notice on intention to leave before you could - is that still the case? If so has/ had this been done a while ago?

Hey just wondering what happens to silvan's netball sides if or once they become part of the efl? As most metropolitan leagues dont have netball comps? Would be very disappointing if they were to lose their netball sides.
