I feel that I’m seeing some pretty average delivery inside 50. Its quite a familiar feeling
I've been watching closely. The forwards just stand there 75% of the time, waiting for the ball to fall into their laps. Bugger all leading, massively congested. It's such a dysfunctional area of our game.

I don't know enough to pinpoint things, but seems like our pressure has been right off. But has been that way for decent periods for the whole year. Not sure if it's a strategy of picking and choosing our moments to conserve energy, but it seems to have been caught out the last two weeks if so. Obviously it doesn't help having all our key backmen getting injured.

a wake up call for the dees and their supporters. We've been unimpressive most of the season and now that we're playing good teams we're being exposed.
-horrendous ability to defend the spread.
  • completely ineffective defensive zone.
  • inability to stop momentum.
  • inefficiency going inside 50m.

Tomlinson is terrible.

Salem's turnover cost us 4 goals. It started their momentum. Very rare by him.

Big contrast to the GWS game where we slaughtered them with movement and separation inside 50.

Two weeks in a row we've hit the wall now. A lot to play out in this one but we look sluggish in every aspect.

If we arent under a heavy training load atm then this isn't good.

Losing 1 on 1s.
Fumbly.
Slow ground coverage.
Beaten for numbers.
Not fully committed at 50/50 balls.
Too many panic kicks.
Sydney with a massive sniff.

Last week I said we need to go back to basics. Win ugly, I dont care. This is about 4 crucial points and inensity, not being clever and flash.

we’re definitely going through a bit of a phase. I’d like to see the end of it really.

I’ve thought May is just about our most important player for some time - you really notice his absence

Mate, defence is the least of our problems. I will give you credit for calling out the forward inefficiency though.

What I’d like to know is if we’re losing control of the game why are we making zero attempt to mitigate the damage?

Darren Burgess! Big loss. Pressure was 11th coming into this game. 11th! Getting found out two weeks in a row against hungrier teams bringing pressure. I wonder if Burgess is a factor here. Can't be a coincidence we drop massively in pressure numbers can it? Hmmm
