you don't head butt someone in the face in a non-malicious way, fuddy........that's like respectfully kicking someone in the head..........

If that was Toby Green, he would have got 4-5 weeks...

There is absolutely no way a Liverpool kiss gets 2 weeks under any circumstances...

Disgraceful...

Reckon Smith got off a little bit light, on the basis that Tuohy was motioning to headbutt him multiple times without making contact. Tuohy knew exactly what he was doing, trying to bait a young player with a huge competitive streak. That doesn't absolve Smith, he shouldn't have done what he did, but 2 weeks is enough to send a reasonable message. It seemed more of a "push" than a headbutt, too - the initial contact didn't look forceful, he put his head against Tuohy's and then "pushed".

Hopefully Tuohy will also get a discreet phone call from AFL house to tell him that his behaviour was also out of line. Stamp out the thuggish acts, for sure, but also stamp out players taunting opponents to try and elicit a thuggish act.

Bloody MRO

Football players suspended in midair for NGV art installation recreating 2011 AFL mark of the year

See, that's the kind of interpretative art I don't understand.

I prefer realism....

You know, like where Andrew Walker was realistically the winner of MOTY in 2011...

I think it was more of a brain fade from Smith (which doesn't mean he shouldn't go unpunished) than any intent to actually hurt 2E.

He needs to be better than that (am
sure Bevo would have had a stern word to him afterwards
) and a couple of weeks off seems the right penalty to me, he isn't really known as a dirty player/history of thuggery, so I take that into account too..

And he has the face furniture to make sure Smith knows it’s a stern word.

Someone explain to me just how this fine for wrestling thing works? If they've both been charged with wrestling and it's a first offence, shouldn't they both be getting 1k fines?

That’s makes absolutely no sense
So first offence $1500 early plea $1000 so a 33% sale price cool
Second $2500 to $1500, so now a bigger discount with 40 percent off
AFL you dickheads, wonder if apelips has ever realised? Oh no why would he even give an eff?

You should be giving the bigger discount to first offence because … it’s the first offence. The entire philosophy of even having that as part of the offence/fine (first offence) implies second time you won’t be as lucky, the end game reality says otherwise. It doesn’t matter if the second time is 500 more, it’s the fact that the early plea sees more leniency that the first time leniency with early plea. That’s the thing that bother me.

I see are some simpletons down at AFL house who like to wear suits and feel important.

Lynch wasn't even cited for eye gouging Saad.
you surprised ?

Well many if not most on this forum reckon it wasnt a gauge - despite the obvious footage ...

Richmond and Hawforn have been allowed to play 'on the edge unsociable football' for years...

it is their 'brand'

apparently only they are allowed to do 'on the edge stuff'...must have bought a special license from Gill the Dill.

Not surprised at all but Chrisso found a way to fine Lynch instead of suspending him for eye gouging.

From that melee, how the **** did Chrisso single out and fine Plow & Lynch for wrestling.
