This won’t make sense but here goes.

Fyfe is Freo’s greatest ever player.

Bell is Freo’s greatest ever Captain.

Pavlich is Freo’s greatest ever forward.

Mundy is Freo’s greatest ever midfielder.

McPharlin is Freo’s greatest ever defender.

Sandilands is Freo’s greatest ever ruckman.

The highlight video on the club's website, Wow! I didn't realize he was so quick. Easily worth pick 2. That pace and endurance, cleanliness with the ball, contested ball winner combination is what high picks are all about.

Should have been a recruiter. All it takes is a 2 minute highlight video and I hit the mark.*

*If anyone finds my post suggesting we draft Tom Swift at pick 3…. Hush.

I have never been more certain, maybe Pav nowithstanding, that we had a genuine star on our hands based on (their first half of) their first season. He may not be Chris Judd, but he is without doubt going to be a top 3 pure inside mid in the comp as a minimum. Cerra is exciting and you can see how high his ceiling is. Will he get there? Who knows. With Brayshaw you can take it to the bank. That's why Brisbane hummed and hawwed about taking him and in the end they allowed the optics to rule their decision making.
I see your twisting your arm out of its socket patting yourself back rgauci and raise you this.

That "best 16 yo in the country" comment from Michael Voss should be seen as one of the all-time great mozz's by an AFL personality.

I’m surprised there has been no debate as yet about Pav being #1. I think he’s been surpassed by Fyfe and is currently at #2. Brayshaw will slot into #3 by the end of his career.
The below thread covers the great debate.

You might make an argument for Aaron Naughton but I think every club would take Andy at #1, tattoo his name in 10 year ink onto their team sheet and move their thinking to other parts of the ground.

I got on Andy for the Chaz before the season when he was paying $51. Now they’ve offering me all kinds of payout figures but I’ll be riding it out until that Monday night baby!
I went a bit further expecting us to be good, but not so good that Erasmus wouldn't break into the the team... Still going to let it ride 🤣🤣

Bloody hell exhibit A on why you don’t go pumping your chest on draft night not least on opposition boards. Poor bugger will be getting notifications for the next 10 years.

Pavlich was a better player for Fremantle but Fyfe comfortably a better player if that makes sense.
yeah the way i like to describe it is Fyfe's the best player to ever play for Freo, but Pav's the best ever docker

The Pav era (2000-2016) saw 7 finals appearance and a grand final appearance. There have been no finals appearances outside the Pav era.

Equally these eras could be constructed as McPharlin era (2002-2015) or Sandilands era (2002-2019), but the fact remains that each of them were integral to the period we were good, and we haven't been good without them in the side, until now.

Brayshaw is easily our best top 10 draft pick since Pav. Hopefully we talk about the Brayshaw era, and that goes one better than what Pav achieved.

This. By my count, Fremantle has actually never played a final without the names Pavlich AND Sandilands on the team sheet. Extremely hopeful Brayshaw, Darcy, Serong et al represent a new era - it's certainly feeling that way at the moment.
