The legendary mighty Eagles vs Richmond.
We bloody sucked that day. We shall get our revenge.
How do we beat them?
Last time what happened was the club was setting too deep defensively and Richmond had spares in the corridor for a fast counterattack and any pressure on the ball carrier wasn't possible due to lack of players in the corridor thus giving Richmond's mids plenty of time to find an open target in a zone that refuses to man up. The club got lucky that Lynch didn't kick 10 from spots he would usually get them from. Also the club just simply can't be f*cked when it comes to chasing and it showed.
Thankfully changes have been witnessed at the Geelong game and against Essendon. Kelly had a shocker last week but he was coming off the flu now with better match fitness we should see him perform much better. The club needs to set it's defenses higher up the ground and own the corridor by placing spares there which allows the forward line to stay at home.
With Nic Nat back and Waterman playing pretty well I think the team will go with the land of the giants approach which is detrimental to the team.
Need him to fit and fire. Hopefully he shook the cob webs off against the Bombers. Needs to be running ahead of the ball to be effective.
Key matchups.
JK normally performs well when he has Tarrant as his opponent.
Barrass vs Lynch: He didn't play last time and Lynch got off the chain as Gov mainly zoned off or was on Riewoldt and H.Edwards didn't seem ready at the time. Just needs to play a pure lockdown role on him like Schoey or Shep does to their opponent. If Barrass plays a pure lockdown role on him then Lynch's impact will be reduced. If he kicks 3 or less then it's a win for Barrass and the team in that part at least. Failure to respect Lynch will be costly as what happened on the first half last week (Barrass got lucky last week that Wright didn't kick 6 or 7 in the first half).Mr Galati's younger self will be very important in stopping the king flog.
Ready to dominate again. Will be very important in the middle.
L vs decent Giants side 86 - 138
L vs a contending Bulldogs side 60 - 161
L vs a average Adelaide 57 - 88
L vs a top four Geelong side 63 -81
W vs a Essington side 107 - 97
Last five matches vs Richmond.
R9 2018 Won 130 - 83: We won the flag that year and think if Richmond made the GF we would've beaten them.
R22 2019 Lost 82 - 88: Richmond were peaking with all their players back and fit although we done well throughout the game but it turned in their favour once the rain came.
R14 2020 Lost 61 - 88: Players we not happy with the hubs and the conditions there suited their chaos ball style and hindered our control style.
R13 2021 Won 85 - 81: JK had ice in his veins wait, no a sub zero body.
R7 2022 Lost 56 - 165: No effort, poor tactics, injuries and COVID.
Teams.
TBA will post the teams once they're out on Friday evening.
What I think should be the changes imo.
- Outs: Rotham (does nothing and hasn't improved), Jamo (sorry but Nic Nat's back and Williams has more experience)
- Ins: H.Edwards (looked like a god in the WAFl should be in ahead of Rotham), Nic Nat (of course must in if fit and ready)
My proposed team.
B: H.Edwards, Barrass, Hurn
HB: Jones, Bazzo, Yeo
C: Hough, Shuey, Gaff
HF: Rioli, Darling, Waterman
F: Ryan, Kennedy, Cripps
R: Nic Nat, West, Kelly
I/C: B.Williams, Redden, Duggan, Petch
Actual teams will be posted below once it's out.

Tickets and venue.
For Melbourne based West Coast Eagles fans show up and support our guys. We cannot let the Tiger army overrun the MCG or we're doomed so get out there in person and support this legendary mighty West Coast Eagles.
Get out there and support the boys.
Partly cloudy. Slight (30%) chance of a shower in the northwest suburbs, most likely in the morning. Light winds becoming south to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h during the day. Will be cold and somewhat windy. The boys better show effort this week or talks of Simmo getting sacked will be legit despite his contract.
With players back and a new brand of footy the team has shown I think we'll do better than we did first time against them. But I still think they'll take it from us. Hope we win though and upset them in the MCG in front of their insufferable fans.
Richmond by 44 points.
