Peak bigfooty watching a 1min highlight video "not a great kick"
Agree, no one is hitting 100% disposal efficiency in any game, not even the best. Hayden Young goes at 82.1% and he is considered an above average kick.

Cooper has plenty to work with and that's all that matters.

100%, and if he has an attitude like his old man, he will excel in a professional environment

Think it more that he was kicking off one step and that’s why it looked odd

I watched a hell of a lot of him at training in preseason, probably more than every person on here has seen of him in person, remembering he spent most of the pre-christmas and January period there and played in most of the match sim.

I'd have to agree with him in general, kicking is not his strong suit, people thinking he's Boomer are setting him up for failure and it's actually incredibly unfair. It's already begun on the previous few pages.

He's a completely different player, he's much bigger, he's stockier and he's got nowhere near the same foot speed as Boomer or the same general skill level.

I'm glad he's coming here, as I think he's 2-3x the prospect Jackson is as a comparison, but people need to temper their expectations of him. He's more Kieran Harper (without the athletic side) than Brent Harvey.

I think the 30-40 range is about where he sits and it's for a reason.

His kicking and cleanness/fumbles with the footy are the things he needs to work on when he hits full time AFL training. He's got good footy IQ, he can get plenty of the ball in a range of positions, he's got advanced running patterns for his age (no surprise where he's learnt that), it's some of the natural intangibles like kicking, cleanness and athleticism I have concerns about.

I think there are some track watchers, yourself included, who have put in the time into watching these kids to make a well informed observation. I don't think watching merely a highlights package constitutes that

He's more Kieran Harper
I'd be very happy if this turned out to be the case.

Not that I want Coop's delisted by his 4-5th year of footy.

But I can't remember in the last 20 years any other player in their first 2 years having as many highlight reels as Harper did.

We had something special in that kid and then we tried to turn him into a midfielder.......when he wasn't getting much of the ball he'd go back to the VFL and his confidence got shot. Injuries didn't help either.

NMFC ankle curse.

I experience genuine PTSD when I hear Kieran Harper’s name.

Kicked a ripper in the 2nd qtr today. Fended off an opponent and nailed it from 45 on a tight angle. Has been ok in the first half, got nailed in a tackle just before half time unaware of a player coming side on from him.
