We do a lot of team stuff

I think the team we have is a multiple flag team. Could easily attain more flags than the Crows. Average age is, what, 22 years? Got years in front of us to make it as boring as hell for every other fanbases bcos we be winning all the flags.

good win. took the hits early then just cruised in control the whole game.

I still want some better contested marking in our forward line. Also we rush some shots in tight quite a few times.

Midfield went well, and I thought our defence did okay. (I think it was more a few players went well, a few others didn't).

onto the next match!

304% to geelongs 350%

Points for:
1 Lions 143
2 Ess 84
3 Collingwood 81

Good game ladies. The Giants did better than I thought they would and skill level was part fumble and part silky. Hope we continue to dominate the comp. Don't want anyone anywhere near us.

Just need some more improvement from tayla smith misjudged and drops marks a lot, but at least provides more of a contest. Also Dakota seems to have got far less accurate with her goal kicking

Good win. Always room for improvement though - I'd love us to be a little cleaner at times.

Very tough to give votes as lots of players chipped in at different times, but it was Grider, Anderson and Bates who really got the ball rolling in the second quarter. Koenen superb in defence also. Liked Dawes game too and Hodder's pressure up forward was unbelievble.

I think we are well coached to not just go from contest to contest but clear to uncontested possessions quicker that most other teams. The AFLW as a whole is very contested in close. I think the teams that clear it wide out of the congestion get the field position more often and then the game can be won.

Does Dawes skull energy drinks prior to the game. So energetic

Should borrow Dawes and Cathy Svarc to men's team for a first quarter burst in every game.

Might run through a few players in center bounce and keep going.

Tay seems to still be in baby giraffe mode. By mid season I'm predicting she'll have worked past that. She has the height & athleticism to be a very good player for us and while being athletic alone is not enough to be a good player I feel she shows enough footy smarts to (eventually) be a decent ruck/forward.

As for Dax, I'm not sure what's going on there. I like her being in the backline since we get plenty of contributors goal wise. When Lutsey returns I'm sure she'll slot back in to the forward line seamlessly.

Taylor becomes a bit hesitant when the opposition ruck starts crashing into her and goes body on body. She's comfortable when allowed to use her reach but looks nervous against rucks who initiate contact and try to maneuver her out - may be some injury history ? not sure.

Other than that ground coverage and second efforts are great. She's only going to mature and get better as you mentioned.

Bates, Grider, Koenen, Hodder and Hickie got my votes. Dawes and Ally unlucky. Liking the development of Ellinger.

Still plenty to work on but if we can be a team that finds another gear above the opposition with pressure and intensity we will be in every game.

Good solid win after a slow start. The basic team stats below. A-Z order
Hitouts
Lions: Hickie 34 + Smith 6 + Wardlaw 3 = 43
GWS: McCormack 9 +Stack 3 + Evans 1 = 13

Hickie also had 10 disposals 2 marks 4 tackles. An all round good performance

34 tapouts for Hickie. Impressive. She'd have to be the best ruck in the comp surely?

66 points scored in 3 quarters, fantastic offense. The girls looked like they played stronger as the game progressed. They are running out games really well so far.

Of the other (foundation) teams who even comes close to us? Like I said in a previous post, we are a multiple flag team simply because we have winners in every line. I don't want them to drink their bathwater but who even is on the same level?
