I'd trade Will Kelly ahead of Callum Brown (I know, Cal can't kick, Cal can't run, etc). Kelly's game is summed up perfectly by his achievement of getting his shoe stuck in a fence.

You’re not sure how that happens? Really? Two of them will be essentially free and the other two are likely 3rd round picks. Honestly fail to see how we couldn’t make that happen.

One has to consider the likelihood of the player fitting into the culture at your club, the probability of giving a return on investment based on injury history, the chance that their strengths will fit with assigned roles within the team, the opportunity cost of picking up the player in terms of who else could have occupied the list spot, opportunity cost in development of younger players who will now find getting a senior game harder, and of course the risks of giving up draft capital and cap space which could have been directed elsewhere.

All of these assessments should be viewed as ranges of potential outcomes subject to variance, as they are not known quantities.

You are conflating inside and outside mids. Speed has never been a requirement for inside mids. Ability to read the taps is by far the most important attribute for an inside mid.

Let Mitchell compete with Crisp at stoppage and I guarantee Mitchell get his hands on the ball the vast majority of the time.
Crisp can’t out sprint Mitchell if he can’t get the tap.
Playing inside is not Crisps strength.

But Mitchell feeding the ball to Crisp etc, becomes a huge positive to our mid setup.

Incredibly reductive. Mitchell has a significantly better tank, a better nose for the footy, is a much more dynamic user by hand, wins more contested ball, runs better two ways and gets more score involvements. Brodie is bigger, younger and a better tackler.

Saying they are similar is like saying Adams and Crisp are similar because they are both "clearance players" with iffy DE%. It's a shallow analysis

Molly, we haven't even got him yet and don't even know if it's going to really happen. It's time to trust the new regime and if they chase Mitchell, then they know better than you or I. I understand your concerns but if we get him, I'll be just as happy as the club

He arrives he has my full support, and it’s not the fickle turn on the player at the drop of the hat many here offer. My full support. Until then, I’m just as entitled to express my views as those drooling about his potential arrival.

Do your own research. Took me 5 seconds to find that article. There was lots of talk at the time.

May aligns with him getting widely lambasted by the media and the period in which he lost his midfield slot. I’d have thought that pretty obvious.

As long as we get McStay then I’m happy, Frampton and Mitchell would be sweet as well, Hill I’m not too fussed since we have plenty of small forwards

Tom is still only 28 years old and would have a lot to offer another club in a solely inside midfield role.

The 'expert' you're referencing as supporting your view doesn't actually agree with you.

He's 29 and still arguably one of their best mids with a year to go on his contract. I'd be staggered if we got him for a 3rd rounder.
