And if you want to subscribe to it then have at it. If anything I'm actually envious as I wish I could find a bit more optimism about this week, instead of the feeling of dread that I have. But it is what it is.

I tend to find playing the game of 'pick an incident we got away with one from' is a good way to remove the red and white glasses when it comes to umpiring. When I see Gulden duck and get rewarded, or a throw missed, or anything like that, it makes seeing the next one going to the Pies a bit easier to stomach, and doesn't leave me outraged at the supposed umpiring conspiracy. :)

Again, I think you're preaching to the wrong choir as you will very rarely find me talk about umpiring on here. Where I make an exception is in finals against media darlings and fairytale stories, as there's actual precedent for getting shafted there.

Holding onto one game from 6 years ago isn't healthy but each to their own.

Re: where to park at the SCG/surrounds.

I would highly recommend getting there an hour/90 mins early and parking on Robertson Rd. Right next to the ground and you get 4 hours free parking. Otherwise, UNSW has free parking on campus on the weekend (NIDA carpark is the most convenient) and you can take the light rail from UNSW straight to the SCG. Roughly 10 mins. Much better than parking in Lidcombe or some other random suburb.

I want my luke parker avatar to be holding a cheese toastie.

Anyone keen enough to do this will be rewarded with me using it.
Standard shit-talkin', toastie-lovin' Luke Parker

caesar88 that is the last and only time mention of the T word will be allowed in the thread. After this I will full on delete that s**t.
This is an outrageous development considering we have gone 8-0 since deciding to make toastie talk a weekly occurrence. I strongly urge the council to reconsider.

This just makes me happy
I remember Jake Lloyd playing reserves at the Swans in his first few years as a rookie. In defence he would have his hand on someone, such was his close marking....then when Swans won the ball he was immediately 15-20 metres away wanting to receive the ball. Such was his spread. He became a favourite of mine from then on.

FMD we won by 22 points, and Hayward, Papley, Reid and effing Jake Lloyd scored 2 goals each. Buddy as a decoy worked a treat.
Not to mention: Parker - 1.0, Rowbottom - 1.0, Mills - 1.0, Hickey - 1.0.

Those in the midfield finding space inside 50 and hitting the scoreboard always helps. Every one of those goals came from one of them being left unattended because the opposition were worried about our actual forwards.

Jake has always been a very smart footballer and super dedicated but my saddest memory from the 2014 GF was him being repeatedly knocked over because he just wasn't stable enough in contact. It was such a marker of that game.

Ross Lyon on TripleM (see media thread) suggests NDaicos to create a 2 on 1 and confusion in Swans F50 by going to Papley, dragging Clarke with him.

I'm not a senior coach but that sounds like a recipe for Ryan himself to pick up a few cheap marks and goals. Thoughts?
I would think that that scenario would happen multiple times in every game. To create an out number would be standard coaching and standard play by AFL players. Ross Lyon is not Nostradamus on this. It happens every week.

I was at the 2014 GF. Sitting in a sea of Hawthorn. I would say apart from Buddy, who fought a lone hand, our entire team was bullied and bashed. Masterful coaching from Clarkson. Swans were the best team in 2014 H&A. We did not turn up. We were surprised by the ferocity. We never recovered.
