After finishing 15th and claiming yet another coach as a victim, Essendon players should not be making public statements.

I was surprised they came out and made comments. They are the last people i'd expect the club want talking right now.
Just more Essendon being Essendon.

Lobb, Logue, Tucker, Meek, Frederick. I'm probably forgetting someone else.
EDIT: Acres.
For a team that's on the up, there must be something seriously wrong.
Lobb has wanted to move for 18 months, because his partner has work in Melbourne.

Logue is essentially being pushed out.

Meek will leave because he wants more opportunity, rather than be third or fourth ruck.

Henry is struggling with the professionalism of the sport, and what he needs to do to get in to the best 22. He’s hoping he gets an easier run elsewhere.

Acres is looking to cash in on a good season.

And Freo have an impending salary cap squeeze, trying to bring Jackson in.

Nothing cultural about it, just a good team with decent depth, that can’t afford to keep all their depth on good money. It happens.

Neale, Langdon, Hill, Hogan, Acres, Lobb, Logue…

Its been a common trend for a while now

All these circumstances could/would be overlooked for the right reasons to stay at a club too.

As a Freo fan I may offer some perspective into some of these moves.

Lobb won't go anywhere, we're trading Logue and his girlfriend can wait another year.

Logue is a matter of money, he's getting 200k more from North and a guaranteed starting spot, he may not be a walk up starter next year.

Meek is purely opportunity, he's too good for WAFL football and he'll look for a consistent spot

Henry won't leave, we've already said he's staying.

Acres is also a matter of money.

Money isn't the be all and end all for most footballers though.

Acres & Lobb are looking down the barrel of being best 22 in a top 4 challenging team. A chance at a lifelong dream worth a bit more cash? Or would the right partner understand the dream and not want Lobb to move interstate?

Did you get Henry and Frederick mixed up ioppolo ?

Probably not helped by one of the rags having the headline "Fremantle Dockers speedster wants move" and used this picture

Clickbait at it's finest
This is the pic I saw and given he's the crisp, front and centre of the pic I assumed it was him.
Whoops

For Lobb money is the be all and end all. He said he would have re-signed with us if we'd offered him enough.

He won’t be on much at the dogs. Surely you’d match their offer considering Lobb is your number 1 forward?? Doesn’t make sense.

Surely Freo trade Lobb while he’s still in contract and had the best year he’s ever going to have? If they wait until next year, he’s OOC and possibly lowered his own colours if he has a poor season. They’d then get stuff all for him?? I also wonder how Freo fans would react to a player asking to come to them, but the players club refusing and forcing them to stay (for 2 years in a row)

I also reckon they’ve wasted their chance at a flag for a few years. I feel like you get very few chances when most things go right for you. You have a great run with injuries, and a reasonable draw (Freos wasn’t easy but it wasn’t the hardest) all your B graders and ring ins play their almost one and only good season, and it all falls into place and you win a flag? We were lucky enough to do it in 2018 (even though we were clearly the best team that year) and none of our players have really played a season that good since. Many teams have failed to capitalise on it. Collingwood will also be the same this year.

Josh Carr sneakily coaching well wherever he goes. Will deffo be an AFL coach.

Be a tough coach too despite nerd boy glasses

I'm sure Freo saying that they aren't trading Lobb is just some kind of galaxy brain negotiating tactic. Call it death by a thousand feathers if you will.
