We're the best last quarter team in the league I think. It was mentioned at 3qtr time in the Dees final. We saw them try to comeback a month ago.

Of course, yeah, the commentary would be all about the Pies.

Our record for last quarter wins this season is 19-5 …. Same with 3rd quarters I believe!
Quite an important stat going into the PF against Pies.

I think Mills will be the one to start with the Gooey Man. Stamping authority early, and when he needs a break Paddlebutt will take over.

Fox to Elliot is a decent call too.

Feeling nervous but calm. If we go with them early and don't let them spring a break on us, we will have too much class for them is my prediction.



Pretty much read my mind. My view is if we are within 3 goals or better at half time, we will win.

The bit I enjoyed a focus on was talking about our ability to change tactics in a game - in particular this part:

"SYD in the second half of the season have in key ways begun to display some of the characteristics that Jose Mourinho described thus: "Top teams in the top leagues they don’t have a model of play. They have a tactical culture that allows them to play in many different ways."

My biggest criticism last year was when Plan A didn't work, we didn't have any other Plans to go to. We've all seen this year how that is developing nicely - it is our biggest weapon, and imo the reason we can (and lets be bold given the time of year) and will win the flag. It is also the basis of why I am confident if we are relatively close at half time, we will come over the top of Collingwood and win tomorrow. We know, as we saw a month ago - they have one way to play the game. I don't think they have the ability to adapt as we can during a game - as we saw in the comprehensive win we had a month ago.

If the game in the first half gets on our terms and we dominate the play, there will be only one winner from there imho. But even if it is not, if we are withing striking distance, I trust our ability to change tactics, grind our way into the contest then come over the top. We've done it a few times this year, and we can do it again.

Great post and really sums up my feelings heading into the game. Our ability to adapt is what sets us apart. Keep in the game and we will get in front.

I'm worried about the first quarter. Pies start strongly and we tend to not do great after a break. Start with the pressure and we'll be fine

True, but don't forget that for Collingwood, Paps/Heeney/Budwah/Hayward/Reid/Jake Lloyd are not just a handful but a headache.
