I can understand that, though I think most have been pretty clear that it's certain views that are abhorrent, not Christians themselves.

Food for thought: Maybe they know what LBGTQI+? people feel like for being LBGTQI+?. Though being Christian is more a choice than LBGTQI+?

That's fair, most of the LGBTQIA+ community don't have a whole lot of choice in who they're born to be.

I'd posit for a lot of Christians (and other religions) it's not much of a choice, given it would be largely generational and cultural. Which is a broader and more detailed discussion given religious schools etc... etc...

Agree with that, there's a reason the Jesuits say: “Give me the child for the first seven years and I'll give you the man.”

Brainwashing however can be beaten. Who you're born to be, not so much.

Wow, I think we're agreeing. No lightning bolts?? :)

It's getting pretty overcast outside, I'm thinking either rain or locusts.

You know your club has reached the bottom when cynicism begins to usurp disappointment. It’s a difficult sentiment to alleviate once it permeates large groups. Just think about the changes required for the public to no longer be cynical of the political class. It’s a long way back now for this club. It requires a generational leader to appear to bring integrity back.

Details stolen from the Contract Status thread, those out of contract next year or the year after, ignoring those yet to re-sign this year who are OOC:

AFL Senior List:
link Bryan, Nick – 2023
link Caldwell, Jye – 2024
link Cox, Nik – 2024
link Draper, Sam – 2023
link Guelfi, Matt – 2024
link Heppell, Dyson – 2023
link Hind, Nick – 2024
link Hobbs, Benjamin – 2023
link Jones, Harrison – 2023
link Kelly, Jake - 2024
link Lord, Alister – 2023
link McGrath, Andrew – 2024
link Parish, Darcy – 2023
link Perkins, Archie – 2024
link Phillips, Andrew – 2023
link Redman, Mason – 2023
link Shiel, Dylan – 2024
link Snelling, Will – 2023
link Stewart, James – 2024
link Stringer, Jake – 2024
link Wright, Peter – 2023
link Zerk-Thatcher, Brandon – 2023

Rookie list 4-6 players + 2 Cat Bs

link Baldwin, Kaine – 2023
link D'Ambrosio, Massimo – 2023 (replacing AMT)
link Durham, Sam – 2024
link Martin, Nic - 2024
link Voss, Patrick – 2023
link Wanganeen, Tex - 2024

We have 6 - 12 months to turn it around otherwise we'll lose plenty of quality. You can't tell me the opposition won't be in the ear of guys like Hobbs, Cox, Martin, Perkins etc early next year if we're still a laughing stock. Yes many are still under contract but that won't stop clubs from dangling rather large carrots.

It's an enormous few months for the club, it'll either set us up for the future or put us back almost behind square 1.

No offence mate but there has to be a more relevant term than “behind square 1” How about laughing stock ? Or “norf type levels” ?

Given the commentary of some of the posters on here who are also Christian, seems like they're feeling like bigot and Christian are being heavily conflated as being one and the same, and they're not feeling particularly welcome at this time.

People can choose to ignore what they say or not, but that's how people appear to be feeling right now about how the discourse has been.
You mean, they might feel a teeny tiny part of how a gay person might have felt for the last 100+ years? Feeling not particularly welcome. Bigots can be at the club if they keep it to themselves. But if they lead a bigoted organisation, they shouldn't lead an inclusive one.

One group just wants to be accepted. Another group just wants to be free to be unaccepting of people.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Bigots can be at the club if they keep it to themselves.

And there we are. Exactly why people who are Christian are posting about feeling uncomfortable at the moment, comments like this. Christian = Bigot.

St Kilda 1897 - 1902 levels of rabble, though despite going 2 wins and 97 losses across those years they were probably better run than we are now.
