Is your cat skinny and a back flanker? He'll try and turn her into a midfielder.
LOL no the cat in my picture is my much loved previous cat, she was big framed, so development as a forward flanker in the VFL for her.

My current cat is small however, so clearly a midfielder.

My favourite avatar on BF, Mojo. That is an excellent cat

Well, I'll give our new board credit, they've now managed to once again embarrass our Club and simultaneously divide the supporter base.

Bravo.

This is what happens when there is no due process. We have now given a disgraced ex-banker the platform he needs to push back into the limelight.

Our club is now the rally call for religious freedom. I hope the club holds firm. The bigger issues are the arms length and NAB roles. Why was club willing to overlook that? Seems like they were prepared for backlash against unfair process but not gay issues?

wait does Gil now have to resign because he’s friends with thornburn?
Yes. And the guy who served Thorburn a soggy hotdog at the Rowville pub in 1994 needs to as well. All taint needs to be removed.

I have no issue on your point about him not being suitable due to things that he did or was overseeing in his role as CEO of NAB.
The practices there must have been a s**t show.
I'd rather have this conversation about his suitability to the job based on what he actually did rather than base it on his 'beliefs' (or not... it might just be the beliefs of the church)
I thought he sounded like a good candidate who could bring people together at the EFC and get the workplace humming along as he did when he was at NAB - NAB was in fact voted a particularly safe employer in relation to these LBGTI issues while he was at the helm. He has been in charge of a fairly progressive workplace.
But rather than look at how he behaved (in relation tot he staff) he has been cancelled on account of his Church...

Now if you argue that he shouldn't have been selected based on the immoral practices of NAB under his watch - then that is fine with me and I might agree with you.

Using the same argument I hope you didn't prefer Hird as coach just recently...

Wanted Yze if he was able to bring Choco with him but who knows if that was part of his pitch and hard to see Choco come back here after being ****ed around last time when we appointed JW. Don't mind Scott and he's growing on me, have to laugh at Sheeds backstabbing his former players (who wanted to keep Rutten) to side with Barham on the pretense of wanting Clarko but really wanting Hird. That worked out well for him, was ****ed the moment he torpedo'd any chance of Clarko and saw Walls appointed to the panel.

Yes he's been cancelled on account of his church, he never should've been appointed in the first place because of the bullshit he pulled while in charge of NAB but these people tend to always fall upwards.

You can't pull the I don't have all the same beliefs as my church, mention nothing while also being a chairmen of said church, you would think he was just a regular Christian going to church weekly the way people are acting here. He's chairmen of an extremist Christian church which has said some despicable stuff, which he doesn't actually agree with some of it but won't exactly mention what that is.

He was told us or the church and he choose his faith, **** him and anyone who feels sorry for him please read up on him, he's not someone you should ever feel sorry for.

Let’s hope Dodoro really is on the nose at Essendon.

The way he's clashed with CEOs and multiple GM and coaches and played politics against them should mean he's finished, don't even need to go into recruitment..... but **** me do people think Wells and the Sydney bloke do any of that bullshit? No all they do is ****ing win.

I would expect that from any competent review, but our review when from a guy looking for CEOs before going I'll do it so who the **** knows.

I'm 39 in a few weeks, if I live to 70 I'm not sure I'll see another flag, **** me.

I assume the 'board member' in that hypothetical has a spectacular love of red wine and is still learning how to be a board member.

That “comprehensive” process saw Thornburn appointed on Monday. He was gone by Tuesday after his links to a church organisation, the City on The Hill, were exposed.
Ripped that one straight from bigfooty, typos and all.
Meanwhile, that external review is due to be handed down next week and word has it that long-time recruiting manager Adrian Dodoro is finally on the nose, even though he’s currently trying to negotiate deals for the future of the club in trade week.
I wonder if that’s why they want to roll the board again. Sigh.
Barham has set the tone for change and I’m grateful for that but he can’t stay. Not moving Sheedy on (whatever means necessary) is another mistake in such a short period of time.
There’s no useful mechanism in the constitution for a board member to be removed from their position.

As much as he acts like he’s of unsound mind, I don’t think we’re at the point of being legally able to prove it, which would be the purview of his family and his doctors anyway.

The only other option is to revoke his membership. I can only imagine how that would go down with the general supporter base.

Short of asking him to resign, and him refusing, and then going to the media to trash each other and drag the club through even more mud in the process, I’m not sure what else can be done.

As stupid as Sheedy has been lately, he’ll be more destructive off the board than on it. He needs to be managed and controlled, not cast out.

Now that Peter Dutton has come out and called for Thorburn to have his job back at least we can unequivocally say that we have done the right thing here.

Fair dinkum Godwin’s law stuff

I don’t think he’s manageable and controllable but if he stays in California or Canada or wherever he went, that might be useful.
Buy him a house set among some Napa Valley vineyards.
