For starters the Brownlow voting needs to be stripped off these nerds. I devour books/ articles/ podcasts/ sportsman's nights around all things Tigers related, sure other clubs have their versions too. People forget Jack Dyer was actually a phenomenal player it's mostly forgotten how talented and influential he was and seems to only be remembered for the rough stuff. In like his 3rd year all the experts had him favourite for the Brownlow, he won all the media awards yet he polled dismally. He fronted the head umpire about why this was and was told he'd never win one because he was too rough and argumentative. Bartlett never won same story again dominated all other awards but because he was lippy umpires shafted him. Raines was odds on favourite in 1980 yet received ZERO votes. Story goes he got into a scuffle with umpire Peter Cameron at a Cloke function and all umpires were in on it together to stitch him up. FFS even eggmollesse got 2 votes in a game couple years ago. How does Raines win BnF, media awards and get zero votes. Lastly Greg Williams getting no votes in a dominant 44 posession game back when 25 possies was huge. Soon as that junior umpire came out and fessed up that senior umpire instructed him to give Williams no votes and laughed about it they should've been stripped. I played 200 odd games through juniors and seniors local footy and with exception of a couple the umpires were nerdy, feeble, spiteful losers. These blokes progress to AFL they're not stars they're just a cog. Losers like Ray Chamberlain should be seen not heard. Anyone thinks umpires haven't got a grudge against Punt Rd are delusional. Not surprised at all. Throw the book at them and strip their voting rights FFS!

The bigger query is how Keays got 2 votes for a 21 disposal 1 tackle 0 clearances 3 goal game when

Laird had 32 disposals 12 tackles 8 clearances

As for Cripps 41 disposals 13 clearances 6 tackles 21 contested possessions is pretty much a BOG worthy performance, even in a loss.

Forget about stats, I watched that game and Keays was the most influential player on the ground.

The Cameron thing with Raines is spot on , his parents used to sit with us and the Bartletts, and after the push and shove they never came again
