I was in Sweden in 94 when they came 3rd … their King gave the country a day off when they arrived back in Sweden. Best month long holiday ever!!

Awesome being there and watching the Socceroos getting the job done but the best part about last night was the reception we received from English, Brazilian and Mexican fans when we rocked up to the Red Lion pub afterwards. We got mobbed, high fired and hugged from everyone. Absolute best party ever. Around $14 a pint, we got smashed and woke up with a good old Aussie hangover.

For about 2 minutes there, all of Spain, Germany & Belgium were out of the World Cup.

As it is: Belgium are officially out & Germany are likely out. Add the Italians not even making it to Qatar and it sure is a different looking Final 16.

Edit: Japan are defending like crazy! They can top the group or finish 3rd and be thrown out if Spain equalise. Crazy stuff.

Honestly, can’t fault the first half.

Just can’t give them an opportunity to draw a decision in those areas.

Little turd had had two kicks for the game before he bobbed up with that finish. That’s the quality we don’t have.

But overall, a well constructed system.

Definitely still not sold on Argentina as a tournament threat.
