Its a lot harder to get a conviction with these types of crimes when a decent amount of time has passed between the act itself and the prosecution. My guess is he was offered a deal of sorts where if he pleads guilty he would only have to deal with a suspended sentence and no jail time, instead of risking him being found not guilty. It sucks that he wont see jail time but its on record now that he did do the act, hopefully that gives the victim some closure.

He had a hearing on his likely sentence if found guilty before he plead.

Last year had to suffer about 30 text or whatapp messages from Freo supporters up and about after the draft (particularly after Johnson got picked).

This year's result, a single message about the Eagles continuing to pick bad boys (i.e. Hewitt) and then crickets.

They're trying to do the same thing they did with Lobb. Get a ruck/forward then try and turn him into a CHF. I suspect it will work out the same way, he will have some good games and some bad and never really hit that top level that they need to lead the forward line.
