Is there any chance TK gets into the leadership group?
It would be good to have a First Nations guy in there, it might be the rocket he needs to get his game to the next level consistently and might get us some more return on ‘the farm’

Who says no ?

I’m not against Kelly being part of the leadership group if he does indeed have leadership qualities (obviously I wouldn’t have any idea).

I don’t think that you just reward someone with a leadership position just to give them a rocket. It should be an acknowledgement of leadership traits already on show.

It's good to hear Winder is still putting in the work. Obviously has the belief that whatever the incident was it was at the minor end of the scale.

Also, hate the reporting of him finding a 'loophole'... It isn't - he is banned from club training sessions but allowed to use club facilities (he's also expected to report for duty for WAFL training sessions which I assume he has been doing). The players are on leave until early January, so there are no club training sessions (and he isn't banned from the club, just training).

I get the attention grabbing headline, but they could have put a positive spin on it or even just neutral instead of what they did.

Typical tabloid bs from the The west.

Naitanui, 32, had been sidelined with an illness that forced him to miss four sessions, but he was seen getting a good sweat up alongside McInnes, who recently retired from the WAFL after three seasons at Perth.
Langdon, 27, is looking for another AFL lifeline after being cut by West Coast despite having another year to go on a three-year contract.

Not sure about this being a battle of the "big fella's".

NN could fit McInnes in as an after dinner snack!

Tom Barrass was captain of Claremont Colt in their 2013 GF win and did a good job.

His rise in maturity this last season was great as he was one of the players that dropped after the 2018 GF win. He has come back and he is the real leading candidate for me.
All this talk of Oscar being ready as captain - he has played a sum total of 59 games. Way too soon in my view. He needs to focus on the next 2 years of holding down a KPF position and staying injury free. (Not playing him in the ruck is a good start to being fit).
Yep, good points...someone mentioned Tom and I'm thinking Tom who?
Tom Cole, nah?...forgot we had another Tom, the Big Tommy!
It's been a long off-season already...
Anyway HHP would be a good fit. You're right about Oscar, focus, footy, craft...

Speaking of Winder, it’s now been a little over 2 weeks since the incident he’s being investigated over.

Police know who the victim was, who the perpetrator was and presumably who any witnesses were. There were no reports of any significant injury

Surely by now they’d have decided if any formal charge(s) could be laid

Vicpol though - probably looking for some photos they can leak.

Give them a break, it's not as easy to get away with shooting people anymore.

They’ll release a guilty verdict right before our next Grand Final appearance… 😉

Been a frustrating run for Yeo. Let’s hope the slow build he’s been on through the early part of preseason pays off for 2023 and beyond

He’s a really big unknown coming into this year, Yeo.

But you only have to look at Cripps, who entered this year as a crippled old man and ended it as a Brownlow medallist to realise how quickly things can turn if you get the body right.

Watching that video it’s pretty clear it’s been a very few frustrating years. No momentum at any moment since 2018.

Personally, I would like to see him played up forward a bit more next year. But just seeing him on the park regularly would be terrific. We are better as a side for it.

In a hint on what sessions will be open next year

First open session next year is January 11 - Wednesday rather than Monday when they’re due back

Typically, Monday and Friday are the more intense sessions with Wednesday a lighter one which is when they throw the gates open as there’s less tactical/game plan work done

It sure beats the days of guessing where they’d be when Subi was unavailable.

God bless Mineral Resources Park

He’s been in most of our 22s as a half back and that may well be where he plays but ultimately at 100% fitness he is probably still our most dynamic and best midfielder.

He was on the brink of being one of the superstars of the comp pre injury a couple of years ago.

No doubt in my mind that whoever is responsible for pumping these out this offseason is an avid follower of this board.

Yeo's the type of personality that has the drive/fire to come out and prove he's still got it but also has the stubbornness and ego to not see that he's cooked.

Aged 28 and getting paid $700k a year can make people stubborn to not accept your body may be telling you its cooked.

Really hope Shuey, Sheed and Yeo can have a decent run this season, get and stay fit. Shuey and Yeo spend 50% on a flank and let the next gen gain experience in the guts.

Regarding any leaks from the Eagles I went and did a search on the dark web just to see if there was anything.

Bingo. Came across a conversation between Nissie and Simo at the end of 2021 regarding the state of the list.

Looks like some hard conversations were had for sure.

Interesting comments from Ross Lyon. Has identifies scoring from turnovers as a priority. Said that relying on stoppage goals 'you cant live off' as it is too easy to shut down in big games / finals.

Found that very interesting.
That's classic Ross. He's all for the hard defensive press to strangle the game and score off turnover.

Ross has done well with some subpar lists by getting them to stick to a game plan. He's recognised that the current Saints list is putrid and can't win their own ball and will be most likely to score from when the opposition makes a mistake. Get the players fit, apply pressure and try and score from there. Will be the sameish low scoring shit we all know and hate from Ross.
